High Omega Avenge Weletten Alpha
Chapter 13 Calling Off the Engagement
Aubrey’s POV
The fire burned all night. During that time, | calmly stayed nearby, making sure it didn’t spread to the
Mountain.
Thankfully, everything remained under control. This little house-it should've vanisher with its owner a
long tago.
After everything was done, 1 buried the box 1 held in my hands.
Once it was buried, | took one last look at the wreckage.
Born into chaos, dying into nothingness. This rare chance at a second life-1 will cherish it with everything I have.
| walked down the mountain, step by step, all the way to Miguel Manor
When | knocked on the door, | said slowly. “Kaden, I'm here to call off the engagement.”
“Ms. Mary! You... you didn’t cback last night?”
Beta Kaden jumped when he saw me.
| was still wearing the clothes the Miguel family had giventhe night before. My wounds hadn’t been treated,
and | was covered in dirt.
But even though | hadn't slept all night, | didn’t feel tired at all.
| gave Beta Kaden a light smile. My gaze shifted with a shimmer of calm brilliance.
“Kaden, | want to call off the engagement. But could you taketo wash up first? It wouldn't be appropriate to
see Madam looking like this.”
Beta Kaden stared atfor a long moment before nodding with a complicated expression. Then he ledto
the washroom.
As we passed sof the servants, | could feel the way they looked at me-judgmental, full of disdain. I knew
exactly what they were thinking. They believed that a mere Omega likedidn’t deserve to marry Alpha Henry.
That even having our names next to each other was offensive.
In the past, | would've been hurt. But now, | didn’t feel a thing. | had already decided to give up on Alpha Henry.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLoving him had been a painful experience. | had made the decision to set him free-and set myself
free, too.
Once | was cleaned up, the moment | saw Adelyn, my heart softened a little. If there was anyone I truly felt |
owed in my last life, it was her.
My engagement to Alpha Henry had been arranged by Adelyn herself. My mother had been a rare female Alpha-
class werewolf warrior-and Adelyn’s best friend. During a trip, there was an accident. My mother died saving her.
Before she died, she entrustedto Adelyn’s care.
When she cback, Adelyn publicly announced that | was Alpha Henry's fiancée. She claimed | carried the
bloodline of the ancient werewolves and could give birth to strong offspring that would lead the Shadowmoon
Pack to new heights.

But when | turned eighteen and still hadn't awakened my wolf, people started doubting my bloodline. The
warriors of Shadowmoon Pack refused to accept a weak Omega as the Luna to their great Alpha.
And then, last night in my previous life, Bailey setup-turninginto the Omega who, in the eyes of
everyone, had slept with two werewolves in the Alpha’s home.
At first, Adelyn was firmly against ending the engagement. But eventually, she couldn’t withstand the pressure
from the entire pack and was forced to take back the engagement ring.
Even after that, whenever | needed help, Adelyn would always try to assist me. Unfortunately, | was too weak,
and | felt guilty toward her. That's why | let people pusharound until | died without ever asking her for help.
“Aubrey, why are you here so early?” Adelyn asked with a warm smile.
I smiled back. “There’s something | need to handle personally. | hope I'm not disturbing you.”
“What is it?” Adelyn asked gently.
“I want to call off the engagement, Madam,” | said slowly.
“What?!”
Adelyn shot up from her seat. “I don’t agree! Did Henry say something to you last night? Did he do something to
you?”
| shook my head. My voice was as gentle as it had always been, but this time, there was no fear-only
composure.
“I'm very grateful that Alpha spoke up forlast night and cleared up the misunderstanding. But calling off the
engagement is my own decision.”
“Why?” Adelyn looked genuinely confused. “Don’t you love him? You and Henry have already... been that
intimate. Or is it that he doesn’t want to take responsibility?!”
Adelyn looked furious-like someone else’s son had wronged her own daughter.
| let out a bitter laugh, but my heart felt warm. That warmth gavea little more patience.
“Madam, that night was just an accident. | did it willingly. There’s no need for Alpha to take responsibility. As for
today, it’s simply something I've cto terms with on my own.”
Adelyn opened her mouth to speak, but I quickly interrupted her.
“Look-"
| pointed to a painting hanging in the living room. Adelyn looked confused, not understanding why | was pointing
at it.
I smiled. “That's an original work by Salvador’s son, isn’t it? Something like that would be considered a family
treasure anywhere else, but in your home, it’s just ordinary decoration.”
Adelyn still didn’t understand.
| lifted the cup in my hand and examined it. “And this gold-rimmed enamel cup-used exclusively by the Falvoria
royal family. A few hundred thousand, easy. And even then, it's priceless.”

Not just that. The sofa | was sitting on, the tea | was drinking, everything | could see... none of it was something
a regular werewolf family could afford. Not even families considered elite could reach this level -not even the
Mary family.
Adelyn finally understood what | was trying to say.
She frowned. “Aubrey, these are all just material things.”
She lookedin the eye and said seriously, “As long as there's love, what does family background matter?”
What she meant was-the Miguel family was already powerful enough and didn’t need another powerful
marriage. | smiled at how naive she was. But then again, | used to be that naive too.
“Too bad Alpha doesn’t love me.”
| had never imagined that one day, I'd be able to say those words so calmly. | remembered how, in my past life,
after my reputation was ruined and | was locked in the house by my father, | went through hell just to escape-
just to explain myself to Alpha Henry. And the way he looked atback then... so full of contempt...
Too bad I didn’t know how to read it. | thought he just misunderstood me. That's why he hated me.
| continued, “I'm sure Uncle doesn’t approve ofeither. My family might have a long lineage in werewolf
medicine, but by the tit got to my father’s generation, it was already in decline. Even if we weren't, the Mary
family still isn’t a match for the Miguel family. You should form an alliance with a truly powerful werewolf family,
not someone like me... Madam, you know | still haven't awakened my wolf.”
As | said that, | couldn’t help but chuckle. | felt strangely at ease. “Every t| sat here before, | always felt out
of place. Everything here is too beautiful, too extravagant. I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. | know
you wantedto marry into the Miguel family so you could take care of me. But Alpha hates me. | need to be
self-aware.”
“But | really like you. | really do want you to marry my son,” Adelyn said, clearly hurt.
“And besides, your stepmother and that sister of yours-they’re not exactly harmless. If you call off the
engagement, who knows what they'll do to you
| smiled softly. “That's my own business now. Madam, | know you're doing this for my sake. But please trust me-
I'll be fine.”
Adelyn looked deeply disappointed.
| stood quietly, waiting for her to think. | knew she would eventually understand-what people mean when they
say a forced melon isn’t sweet, and what it means when two people just aren't a match.
What | didn’t know... was that Alpha Henry had heard everything.
