Chapter 112 The Line Between Hope and Despair

Aubrey’s POV

The moment my alpha aura struck them, their eyes finally changed.

One of them suddenly covered his face and cried out, “There’s no hope. This is Moon Goddess

punishing Stella Pack!”

“Shut up!” 1 couldn’t stand that kind of talk. | grabbed the medicine kettle and poured a few gulps

straight into his mouth, then shoved it into his hands.

“I’m Moon Goddess’s messenger! If you don’t drink the gift | brought, then go ahead and die!”

I turned and walked away. Before leaving, | ladled out a bowl of medicine and handed it to the little

girl sitting under the tree.

“Drink it. You're not that sick-you’ll be fine.”

The little girl nodded obediently and gulped it down. When she finished, she looked up at me

curiously and asked, “Are you here because Moon Goddess sent you to save us?”

I reached out and gently rubbed her dry, brittle hair, but I didn’t answer.

“You're leaving?” she asked again.

I nodded. There were still many more werewolves waiting forto save them.

If 1 could develop the medicine inside Shadowmoon Pack and deliver it here, that would be ideal.

But there was no way T-flu would ever be allowed into Shadowmoon Pack-not even alpha Henry

could change that.

“Tell the villagers to boil their water at least five times before drinking. Wash hands frequently,

understand? This disaster will pass soon-1 promise!”

I said it loud and clear.

The little girl's eyes lit up.

“Then my brother... he'll be back soon?” Her voice suddenly rose. She looked toward a direction outside the

village, her eyes filled with hope.

“He said he went to defend the pack. He said he’d beca great warrior. When the disaster ends, he promised

he'd cback!”

He’s going to die.

A chill ran through me, but | couldn't bring myself to say the cruel truth.

| stood up and got ready to leave. At that moment, the little werewolf girl slowly climbed to her feet and bowed

deeply towardin full prayer posture-the kind used to honor Moon Goddess.

“I bless you... Even if | die, my soul will still pray for you.”

I nodded and walked away quickly. | hated seeing death, and | hated even more watching hope buried under

corpses slowly rot into despair.

Chapter 112 The Line Between Hope and Despair

Why is it that under the ssky, skids are in school... and others are being forced to fight?

Since | was reborn, this was the first t| seriously thought about something beyond revenge.

Henry’s POV

I'd been waiting for news from Aubrey, but after several days, Cam kept reporting no sign of her.

| let out a breath of relief. Maybe | was just overthinking.

Yeah... she doesn’t likeanymore. Why would she risk her life to cfind me?

It left a sour taste in my mouth, but my rational mind was grateful.

The fighting outside never stopped. And in this chaos, | found myself missing Aubrey even more-whether she

was cold or sharp, whether she was shy or timid-every side of her played over in my mind.

Maybe it takes facing death to truly change someone. What had she gone through withoutknowing?

“Alpha! Urgent report! A large number of southern wolves are headed this way to intercept the herb shipment-

they'll be here soon!”

At my command, the remaining wolf healers of Stella Pack had gathered and converted the old military hospital

into a Level Four viral research base. They'd begun working on a cure for the T-flu.

Herbs from Logan Peaks were flowing in nonstop. Sfearless healers from other packs had joined us too. But

they needed time-and plenty of herbs-to test and experiment.

And now those southern bastards wanted to cut off our supply? That was like cutting off our last hope of survival.

Damn it.

“How many of them?” | asked coldly.

“Over five hundred!”

A deadly glint passed through my eyes. “Up ahead is the residential area. The houses are tightly

packed— we’ll go through there.”

Perry, the one most familiar with the terrain, immediately said, “Alpha, that’s not the best escape

route.”

“Who said we’re escaping?” | wiped my face and said flatly, “Past that area is the new virus lab.

Those bastards aren’t just after the herbs-they’re trying to destroy the hospital. We can’t let them

succeed. If the hospital’s gone, who knows how long it’ll take to rebuild. We’ll trap them in the

city... and kill them all!”

I turned to the hundred-plus werewolves behind me. Their eyes gleamed with that eerie, wolfish

glow.

“Warriors! Right now, our people are being slaughtered! Our land is being invaded! Will you follow

me- drive out those greedy southern bastards?!”

“Alpha, we will!”

“Kill!”

“Kill them all!”
