X Chapter 376 Testing the Waters Chapter 376 Testing the Waters "Hmun?" Elain responded casually. 15 Fue Coles Samantha's tone sharpened. "The cave is huge. How did you manage to fall straight into the underground chamber beneath it? A location that remote-you wouldn't have just stumbled on it by chance unless..." Elain shifted uncomfortably under Samantha's gaze, a nervous flicker crossing her face. "Unless what?" "Unless you stepped right into the entrance connected to the basement." Elain let out a breath, as if relieved. "You're right. The moment I stepped inside, I hit the entrance. I couldn't believe my luck-of all things, I had to step into that hidden doorway." Samantha, however, wasn't convinced. Her voice took on a sterner edge. "But I told you not to go in there, didn't I? Why didn't you listen? If you hadn't gone in, none of this would have happened.

Elain sighed, trying to explain herself. "I thought the killer might have hidden body parts inside the cave- it was so secluded, after all. And it was getting late. I wanted to find the remains and get out of there quickly. But, just my luck, I stepped right into that trapdoor and fell straight into the basement. If Mr. Dean hadn't arrived when he did, I'd probably be without my legs by now." Samantha studied Elain's expression the entire time, watching for any flicker of emotion.

However, Elain's face remained unnervingly blank. Samantha's suspicion deepened. With a forced smile, she said, "Yes, you were lucky he was there. But next time, you should really think twice before charging into dark, creepy places like that." Elain nodded absently, clearly uninterested in continuing the conversation. She glanced at the fruit basket on the table and changed the subject. "Samantha, these apples look pretty fresh.

Samantha smiled. "Sure, thanks." Erain picked up a fruit knife from the side and began carefully peeling an apple for Samantha. She wielded the knife with skill, the blade glinting in the light as she worked.

Samantha's mind raced with questions.

First, how did Elain fall into the basement without a single injury? Given the killer's twisted nature, he wouldn't have just tied her up without leaving a mark.

Second, how does Elain know exactly where every body part is located? As we walked together, she found nearly all of them. How could she pinpoint the locations of the remains the police missed? It's like she had prior knowledge, which makeswonder if she was involved in their disposal.

Third, and this is the most troubling part, how did the killer reach such a high entrance of the cave without a ladder to knockunconscious? The more Samantha thought about it, the more unsettling it became..

Perhaps something has been off about her from the very beginning. While all my classmates are scared, she's completely fearless. Then, because of her, I start searching for body parts with her and end up finding so many.
