Chapter 851

She didn't realize it until the walls around her heart started to give way that Zachary was all she could think

about. The memories she'd tried so hard to bury crushing back, stirring up every emotion she'd worked to

suppress.

She took a bite of the apple and swallowed.

They say eating a Christmas apple brings peace. If that's true, then she hoped Zachary would stay safe for the

rest of his life.

She suddenly froze, shaking her head as a blurry image surfaced in her mind.

A younger Zachary had once taken a huge bite out of the apple she was holding, grinning like a kid and insisting

she eat from the sfruit.

That smile-so bright, so carefree-didn't match the Zachary she knew now. But somehow, it felt familiar.

Like she'd lived that moment before.

She rubbed the center of her forehead. A sharp pain shot through her skull, so intense her knees nearly buckled.

Waves of sadness crashed over her. She suddenly wanted to cry-loud and hard.

Zachary... what happened between us?

Her head felt so heavy she couldn't stand up straight. Bracing herself against the wall, she slowly made her way

into the elevator.

Melvin hadn't gone to bed yet. He was reviewing documents when he saw Sarah stumble in, pale and unsteady.

Concerned, he rushed over to support her.

"Sasa, what's wrong?"

"My head hurts, Melvin," she whispered, her face completely drained of color. Melvin helped her over to the

couch. "What happened? I'm calling a doctor."

He noticed she was still clutching half an apple in her hand, teeth marks on the edge. He reached out to take it

from her, but her grip tightened.

"No need, Melvin. | just need srest." She forced herself to stand and headed toward her room.

Melvin stared after her, clearly worried. He took out his phone and called

someone.

"What did you do to Sasa?" he demanded.

"What? What happened?" Zachary sounded genuinely anxious.

"Don't act like you care. Did you meet up with her? She could barely walk through the door. She looked like she

was going to collapse said she had a terrible headache. What the hell did you do?" s

Zachary fell silent for a moment, trying to recall everything. "I gave her an apple," he said finally.

He explained the encounter as best he could. "She was fine when | left."

Melvin calmed down a little but still felt something wasn't right.

"Got it." He didn't wait for a reply and hung up. His gaze drifted toward Sarah's bedroom door, his worry

deepening.

He wasn't just worried about her health. He was worried about what she was feeling.

But he knew—when Sarah wanted to be alone, the best thing he could do was not disturb her.

On Christmas Eve, every parking space on Pine Mist Island was taken. People had to park off the island and walk

the entire length of the bridge just to get to the holiday banquet.

Dozens of fans were gathered outside, holding up glowing signs with their idol's

name.

The woman leading them spoke

with confidence, "Make sure to cheer your hearts out for him tonight. We worked hard for this. We can't let other

fan groups steal the spotlight, got it? But don't go overboard. Keep it classy." s

After all, they'd paid a lot just to get in this was a high-end event, and the crowd knew how to behave.

But once they stepped inside, it wasn't anything like they expected.

They had imagined the celebrities would be decked out in designer fashion, but instead, most were wearing

casual outfits. Aside from their good looks and Star quality, they looked surprisingly

down-to-earth. s

Sidols were even grilling meat for their fans, chatting and joking like old friends.

Even the media kept a respectful distance, filming only from their designated areas without interrupting the

atmosphere.
