Chapter 797
In such a stark contrast with a mere decoration, he wanted to know if Zachary would regret it-regret giving up
Vivian and choosing Sarah.
Not only Mr. Wilson, but even Vivian couldn't help glancing at Zachary while speaking. She hoped that among all
the gazes on her while she was the center of attention, one would belong to Zachary.
Unfortunately, under the brilliant lights, those blinding spotlights made it hard for her to keep her eyes open. But
even in this situation, she could clearly see Zachary slightly bowing his head, smiling as he gazed intently at
Sarah beside him.
That look was something she had never seen before-at least Zachary had never looked at her that way.
Full of love, adoration, as if he could never get enough of looking at her.
Her hand gripping the microphone unconsciously tightened. Perhaps the ending had been predetermined all
along.
That gaze was too intense. Vivian found it extremely glaring. She hated seeing that expression-it shouldn't
appear on Zachary's face, and even worse, he wasn't looking at her but at Sarah.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAs she continued speaking, her hand holding the microphone began to tremble. She was about to lose her grip
on it and even started to forget what to say.
Mr. Wilson was the first to notice something was wrong with Vivian. He slowly walked up and took the
microphone directly from her hands.
"Everyone..."
That authoritative presence instantly pulled Vivian back to reality. She looked at her grandfather fearfully-what
had she just done!
This was the Wilson family's hturf, and she was the only star. How could she lose composure over a simple
look?
In the crowd, Charlotte let out a soft, cold laugh as if she had expected this. Vivian might look calm on the
surface, but her heart was probably in turmoil.
From the moment Zachary entered her heart, she had gained a weakness.
The one who had caused all this was lost
thought, unaware of how
intense Zachary's gaze, toward her
was, and certainly unaware of the chain reactions this look had triggered. s
She was just wondering when the banquet would actually start.
"What are you thinking about?" Zachary asked softly. He had noticed Sarah daydreaming from the beginning.
Sarah shook her head. "Wondering how long they're going to keep talking nonsense."
The nonsense continued. Vivian's speech seemed unfinished when she cut herself off and now it was Mr Wilson's
turn to talk nonsense. No one dared rush them or say anything else. s
When the announcement that the banquet had begun finally rang out, Sarah distinctly heard several sighs of
relief.
Finally, they didn't have to stand
around stupidly. She immediately headed for a corner and began
eating pastries, ignoring whatever commotion she might have caused. s
Her task today was simple-stand here and let Vivian see her, see her together
with Zachary. That was all.
But Zachary apparently didn't want to complete the mission so simply. He approached Sarah with two glasses of
red wine, giving her one. "Dance withlater."
Sarah took the wine glass and frowned. "You didn't mention dancing before."
Zachary took a sip from his glass and said seriously, "To put on a proper show, of course. She already lost her
composure just now."
Lost her composure?
Sarah looked at Vivian strangely. She hadn't noticed Vivian losing composure,
and besides, they hadn't done anything just now that would be odd.
Wait, maybe Vivian's feelings for Zachary were too deep and devoted.
She raised an eyebrow. "Miss Wilson really loved you. No wonder you two were childhood sweethearts who grew
up together."
