Chapter 237
Yonas was slumped over the steering wheel, his forehead glistening with sweat.
"Yonas!" she called out weakly. The Cayenne's window was shattered, and the door was deeply dented. The
airbags in Yonas's car had deployed, pinning him inside. "Yonas! Wake up!"
After countless calls, Yonas finally opened his eyes and tried to move. It was tough to roll his body around in the
airbag-filled cabin, and he felt a sharp pain in his thigh. Hoarsely, he said, "Yasmine, I'm fine, how about you?" In
that moment, Yasmine completely forgot everything from before. Her eyes reddened as she looked at Yonas, "I'm
fine. How will you get out?" "Did you call for call for help?" Yonas asked.
Yasmine took out her phone but found there was no signal at all, so she couldn't make a call for help. "No signal,"
she said. Earlier on the bridge, her phone had been going in and out of service.
of them had already fallen, and the other had tipped over. Both cars undoubtedly had signal jamming devices
inside.
Chasing after after her car, one of Yasmine looked over at Yonas. His upper body was compressed by the airbags,
while his lower body was completely pinned beneath it. "Get out, quickly," Yasmine's voice trembled.
Yonas forced a smile at her, "Yasmine, don't be scared. I'll get out soon." He struggled, trying to free up some
space by pushing against the airbags, hoping to wiggle out. Unfortunately, he couldn't move. Yonas smiled
reassuringly, "Don't worry, | will get out." While trying to reassure Yasmine, he glanced with a bitter smile at his
trapped leg. He knew his body well; his right foot was stuck in the deformed vehicle chassis. From last night until
now a solid three to four hours had passed, and his leg was still in that sposition. He couldn't quite feel his

for quite a while, as if resigning to his fate, Yonas said, "Yasmine, you should leave now. I'm not sure when those
people will wake up. Hurry and get out of here." hy?" Yasmine suddenly blurted out.
was startled, unclear about what she meant, "What?"
"Why did you suddenly appear? Why did you cknowing it was dangerous? Why did you... rush in so
recklessly?"
Yonas seemed to have never thought about such a question. "It's instinct," he said. Instinctively, he drove over
as soon as he heard the call, and instinctively, he would smash into the incoming car before it could hit Yasmine.
It was simply because he didn't want her to get hurt. Yasmine stopped talking, her fiery eyes fixed on the car
door. She picked up a tree branch from the ground, trying to pry it open, but her strength was too small to budge
it at all.
"Just go, don't waste your energy. Leave here and head west for an hour, you'll reach a gas station, and there will
definitely be someone on duty. Ask them for help." He paused before continuing, "Once you get out, call Chuck
and let him know I'm here. If you still hate me, you can just leavebehind" He lowered his gaze slightly,
placing his hand on his right leg, gently rubbing it to ease the pressure As the minutes ticked by, his heart grew
heavy and the small glimmer of hope started to fade with the silence, leaving him with a dull ache. Even though
Yasmine hadn't said anything, he already knew what she was about to say. She remained silent, eyes showing no
trace of emotion.

Yonas gave a wry smile, "Go on, | know you don't want to, but don't worry about me. Be careful of Irene once
you're out. | suspect she's behind all this, Yasmine, she's far more dangerous than you think." It was probably the
last reminder he could give, yet despite this, Yasmine still didn't say a word.
His heart felt as if it had been stabbed twice. The moon shone in the sky, slowly drifting westward. In the
darkness, Yasmine suddenly looked up, her eyes already filled with tears that streamed down her face. "Yonas,
never say something like that." "What did | say?" Yonas asked.
Yasmine, tears glistening in her eyes, laughed out loud, "Don't say you don't care. Huh, how could you not care!"
Yasmine found a steel pipe in her car's trunk, propped open the car door, and with a strong push, opened it.
Only then did she see Yonas's leg, trapped inside, with bloody scratches. "Yonas!" she exclaimed.
Yonas chuckled wryly, "I wasn't lying. | really need someone to rescuethis time. I'm counting on you."

Yasmine lifted her head as the breeze brushed against her cheek. She was about to make a bold decision. If she
left Yonas here, he wouldn't be able to escape if wild animals appeared. But if she didn't go, without a signal, no

he complied, moving his body to the other side.
Yasmine picked up a stone nearby and said coldly to Yonas, "Bear with it!"
She
e fiercely struck the panel trapping Yonas's leg and after more than ten tries, she removed it. As it broke, the
panel pressed against Yonas's leg, leaving another scratch. "Ugh," he groaned quietly.
After rescuing the person, Yasmine helped Yonas up, and they began to walk down the mountain. Yonas was in a
haze, plagued by intense pain. He leaned on Yasmine as they descended the steep path, the air heavy with
moisture. Supporting each other, the two struggled on after the heart-pounding chase. Yasmine's body was
covered in wounds. Yonas suddenly wished tcould stop, to linger in this moment forever.
That night, Yasmine helped Yonas down the mountain, heading west. It took them over an hour to get out. Just as
they stepped out from the mountain's shadow, their phones began to ring incessantly. Yasmine had calls from
Lucy and Chuck, while Yonas had over forty missed calls - from Nathan, the Russell family, and of course, Chuck
too. you been?"
Yonas didn't have tto call everyone back before Chuck's call connected, "Yonas! Where have Yonas quickly
said the important stuff, knowing his phone's battery was almost dead. Within a few minutes, it shut itself off.
After nearly two hours of walking, Yasmine, already hurting from a fierce impact, couldn't hold on any longer. She
saw the gas station lights ahead and fainted straightaway. Yonas wasn't much better; he reached the gas station
and then lost consciousness too.
After waking up again, Yonas found himself lying on a hospital bed. He struggled to lift his head and noticed that
his right leg was bandaged. Next to him, Chuck was rapidly typing away on his phone.
