Brad had never taken care of Sean for even a day. It was ironic that a man with no parenting experience was attempting to teach Nadine how to raise her son.

Brad looked at Sean, who was devouring his dessert, and dismissed Nadine's concerns. "He seems fine to me." All of a sudden, she felt like she had had enough. Nothing she said would get through to Brad anyway. No matter what she said, he'd just insist she was wrong. So, she chose to remain silent.

Brad assumed she had given in and went on to reassure Sean, "Slow down. No one's going to take it from you. If you want seconds, just say so." Noticing that his mom was quiet and his dad was on his side, Sean went ahead and dug into his dessert.

However, reality soon struck both Brad and Sean. When there was almost nothing left of the dessert, Sean abruptly set down his spoon and clutched his stomach. "Daddy, my tummy hurts!" Brad's face tightened with embarrassment when he heard that Sean was in pain. He immediately reached out to rub the little guy's belly. "Is it hurting here? Lethelp you." As he placed his hand near Sean's stomach, he froze. Sean's stomach was so bloated it looked like a watermelon. Brad hesitated, unsure if he should even touch it, afraid he might hurt him.

Sean was in a lot of pain. His breathing grew labored as he leaned heavily back in his chair, his face pale as a sheet.

Brad cautiously placed his hand on his stomach, trying to ease his pain, but he fumbled with the pressure, causing Sean to complain, "Daddy, you're making it worse! My tummy hurts even more now!" At a loss for what to do, Brad turned to Nadine for help. "What do I do?" Regret washed over him. He wished he'd listened to her, but it was too late now.

Nadine's dislike for Brad grew stronger, her irritation nearly visible as her brows knitted together. Ignoring Brad, she leaned over and gently lifted Sean into her arms, letting him rest against her. Then, she placed her hand on his stomach and gently rubbed it. "What have I always said to you, Sean?" Realizing he had done something wrong, Sean lowered his gaze and looked remorseful as he said, "I was wrong, Mommy. I won't be greedy again." Since he already understood his mistake, Nadine didn't scold him further. She continued to soothe him, completely disregarding Brad as if he wasn't there.

If it weren't for Brad, Sean wouldn't have overeaten. She didn't even want to look at him, fearing she'd lose her temper and start an argument with him in front of Sean.

Usually, when Sean's stomach hurt from overeating, Nadine would rub his belly using the technique shen learned from an old medicine practitioner. But for sreason, it didn't seem to be helping today.

She'd been rubbing his stomach for a while now, but he was still in pain.

Realizing that her usual remedy wasn't working, she started to panic. Nadine was

too worried about her child to be mad at Brad. "We need, ve d to take him ad the hospital she ordered.

After arriving at the hospital, the pediatrician performed a series of tests and concluded that Sean had overeaten and needed an IV. Brad arranged for a private room for Sean, allowing him to lie on the bed for his IV drip. However, he felt uneasy inside. He couldn't even bring himself to look at Nadine.
