Chapter 341 After six years of marriage and sharing a bed, Nadine understood Brad far better than Avery ever could.
When Avery suggested that Brad's reluctance to divorce might be because he cared about Nadine, the latter simply smiled.
With Brad's temperament, if he had cared even a little about her, they wouldn't have ended up like this. The person Brad truly cherished was Jean. Since Jean returned, his usually stern face had softened with smiles, and his cold eyes had warmed up. Nadine had even seen him embrace Jean and treat her with affection.

Recalling the lines of happiness on Brad's face when he held Jean, Nadine looked at Avery with a rational and calm expression. "Babe, you've never seen Brad with Jean. His smile when he holds her is full of joy.
"Because I've seen it, I understand how absurd your comment was. If he cared even a little about me, we wouldn't have reached this point, so don't comfortanymore. From now on, it's just you and Sean for me." After saying this, Nadine hid her disappointment and continued slicing the fish. Her movements were precise, and the fish fillets were cut evenly and thin as gossamer. Spread out, they looked like finely carved artworks, pleasing to the eye.
Though she tried to act nonchalant, Avery saw the hurt in her eyes. After moving around the stove, Avery took the knife from Nadine's hands and embraced her tightly.
In a soothing voice, Avery comforted her. "Don't be sad, babe. You still haveand Sean. No matter what, I'll be with you and support all your decisions. Even if the whole world turns against you, I'll stand by your side." Held tightly by her bestie, Nadine struggled to keep her composure. She bit her lower lip to prevent herself from crying out loud.
After so many long and arduous days, she finally allowed herself to drop her guard and show her vulnerability. The comfort from Avery made her tears flow freely. Nadine leaned on Avery's shoulder. Her low sob echoed in the kitchen. Yet, noone broke the suffocating silence.
Avery knew Nadine had endured too much and needed an outlet for her emotions, and she was Nadine's refuge. After a few minutes of crying, Nadine thought of Sean waiting for his birthday celebration and quickly composed herself. She picked up the knife again to chop the vegetables.
Seeing the tears still glistening in Nadine's eyes, Avery wiped them away and patted her shoulder.
