Chapter 278 In the past, whenever Brad chfor dinner, he always saw Nadine feeding Sean while she ate very little herself.
He had assumed she had already eaten and was simply finishing off the remaining food.
Now, he realized that Nadine always made sure Sean was full before she touched her own food.
No wonder she looked so thin.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNadine was focused on her meal, trying to ignore the piercing gaze from across the table. She forced herself to act as if nothing was wrong.
But the more she tried to ignore Brad, the more uncomfortable she felt.
She ate only half a bowl of pasta and pecked at the other dishes. Once she was done, she put down her cutlery and glanced at Brad watching her from across the table before saying, "I'm done. You can take your time." Just as she was about to get up and leave, Brad suddenly stood up and sat beside her to block her path. "You've eaten, but I haven't." For sreason, Nadine looked especially beautiful tonight. Brad found himself more drawn to her than usual. He didn't want anything else. He just wanted her to stay with him a bit longer while he finished his meal. Nadine was startled by his sudden move but quickly regained her composure. She looked at him coldly. "You can take your time." Earlier, Brad had protected her and Sean by blocking the knife wielded by Gigi.
Knowing his injury was caused by defending them, she was grateful.
That was why she had prepared this meal as a token of her appreciation.
If Brad hadn't saved them, she would have taken Sean and left without looking back.
Brad extended his legs, blocking her path, and said gently, "My hands are injured, so I can't use the cutlery." As he spoke, he raised both his hands, which were wrapped in bandages, with the bloodied one higher. Nadine glanced at the blood on the bandages and pursed her lips.
When Brad saw her hesitation, he continued, "I went to see Gigi earlier. She will face consequences forher Onight, she will apologize to you." Nadine was stunned by this news.
She didn't believe that Gigi would apologize to her.
Since the day she'd married into the Hamiltons, Gigi had looked down on her.

Getting an apology from Gigi seemed as impossible as reaching the sky.
But Brad claimed she would apologize to her. She wondered if it was a joke.
Nadine stood there, struggling to process whether this news was real or just another fie. Seeing that she didn't seem pleased, Brad frowned. "What's wrong? you think I'm lying to you? I'm head of the Hamiltons. Why would I deceive you?" Seeing her nonchalant attitude made him feel unusually uncomfortable.
Nadine snapped to her senses, blinked, and gave him a faint smile. "But she hasn't apologized yet. Don't you think you're speaking a bit too soon?"
She knew very well that with how Gigi m was favored within the Hamiltons, this apology would likely never happen.
