Please Come Back, Honey! Chapter 128

Emma never expected that Trevor would leave, only to return. She also never expected him to return to

bring her meals to her.

When she regained her composure, she realized that she had cried her heart out because her eyes

were rimmed red and swollen before she quickly closed the door.

She was reluctant and embarrassed to reveal her vulnerable side to him because she subconsciously

felt that he would only laugh at her with his cold, aloof expression.

Before she could even close the door, he used his long leg to block the door. “Emma!”

It was obvious to Trevor that Emma had cried before—and she must have cried her heart out. The way

she looked when she hid to shed her tears alone had distressed him so much that he was speechless.

“I’m sorry. You can whack me or scold me because I don’t know how to make up for the hurt that I have

caused you,” Trevor apologized as he continued to block the door.

She then mocked him. “I don’t need you to make up to me. As long as we maintain distance from each

other, it’ll be perfect.”

After all, the misery that she had endured was all caused by him.

Once Emma had said those words, Trevor stared at her with a pair of gloomy eyes.

As he was someone with such an imposing aura, there was no way she could endure the kind of look

he was giving her at the moment. Since the door was left open, she wanted to turn around and flee the

scene.

He dragged her back and enunciated his words again. “Emma, what I said at the warehouse is the

truth.”

That was enough for him to admit in front of Arianna and the others that he truly loved Emma.

Now that Emma had expressed her wish for them to be distant, how could Trevor grant her wish?

There was no trace of courtesy in her as she responded, “I have already said before that I don’t care.”

As he was stunned by her words, his expression slightly darkened. Judging from his temper, she knew

that he would have snapped by now. After all, he was someone who sat on the pedestal and he would

definitely lose his temper after she had commented about him with such words.

Emma thought that Trevor would push her aside and leave in a state of anger. It’s also for the best

because he won’t look for me ever again.

Contrary to her expectations, he glared at her for a while, but only lowered his gaze after that. Then, he

handed the meal box in his hand to her. “Eat this.”

Just as she was about to reject him, she heard his voice again. “Either you take it and eat it on your

own or I’ll watch you finish the meal.”

Without thinking much, Emma chose to walk to him and took the meal box from his hand before she

coldly closed the door.

The dignified President Bateson of the Bateson Group was locked outside and he could only turn to

leave in fury.

Emma’s emotions were unstable at the moment and she would have a terrible expression of him. If

Trevor kept showing up in front of her, it would only cause her to hate him even more.

This kind of tactic should have been a familiar one for him since he had been a businessman for some

time. He was also aware of how to use it to the best of his abilities.

When he went downstairs and entered his own car, the first thing he did was give Raymond a ring. “I’ll

send Emma’s contact information to you in a while. Give her a ring; since she wants to sue Arianna,

you should be her legal representative.”

Raymond and Kaleb were already aware of what had happened earlier today from Zachary, which

caused Raymond to sigh. “Others have always been asking me to represent them in litigation matters,

but I never expected that I would eventually have a case given to me.”

Apart from that, Raymond was also confident that Emma would not appoint him as her legal

representative even if he were to take the initiative to approach her.

Trevor retorted, “I’m only asking you for help. Why do you have so much bullsh*t to complain about?”

Raymond was rendered speechless. Is this the kind of behavior that Trevor should have when he is

asking for help? Then, he teased Trevor, “You are really sacrificing kinship in the name of justice. It’s

about time that your sister of yours receives her due punishment.”

Both Raymond and Zachary were in a state of puzzlement; Trevor and Arianna shared the same

parents, but why did their personalities differ that much? Trevor was a privileged person where Arianna

was a b*tch who not only failed in her studies but had such an evil character.

After yet another sigh, Raymond added, “I’m sure that Emma won’t retain me as her lawyer. Besides,

her boyfriend is an award-winning actor. I’m sure Wesley can appoint a better lawyer for her.”

Trevor’s heart was already depressed and now that Raymond said all this, Trevor could not help feeling

even worse. What kind of bro am I having? It seems like Raymond is taking delight in my misfortunes.

“Whether she retains you or not doesn’t matter. Why don’t you give her a ring first?” By doing so, at

least he could express his intention.

Raymond expressed, “Okay, okay. I got it.”

The two of them were about to end the call when Trevor heard a woman yelling at Raymond.

“Raymond Washington! Did you secretly smoke indoors again?”

Then, she growled, “I’m so annoyed by you! You should sleep in the guest room until all of the nicotine

smell has dissipated from you.”

As a lawyer, Raymond was blessed with oratory skills, but he was now as quiet as a Church mouse

and afraid of rebutting her.

Trevor could not resist laughing when he heard it. It was now his turn to poke fun at Raymond. “Mr.

Washington, you don’t even dare to smoke at home and yet you’re telling us how happy you are?”

They would usually look for Raymond for drinking sessions on the weekdays, but Raymond rarely

showed up. As soon as they heard him explaining that he had to return home to his wife, even if

Raymond was out with them, he was still inseparable from his wife as they would show off their love.

It was enough to make Zachary so irritated that he would complain that the more the lovebirds showed

off their love, the earlier their love for each other would die.

After being teased by Trevor, Raymond was not annoyed. “She doesn’t let me smoke because of

health reasons.”

Trevor exposed him at first instance. “Are you sure it’s not because she hates the smell of nicotine?”

Raymond tried his best to retort, “Why would she hate it? The smell of nicotine is the most masculine

smell.”

Trevor was not in the mood to entertain his friend anymore. “Yeah, you’re a lawyer. I could never win

against you in an argument. All the best. Bye.”

After Trevor hung up the call, he sped away from Emma’s residence. While he was en-route on his

journey, he suddenly remembered something and gave Cyrus a ring. “Help to investigate when Wilson

will leave Jonestown. If it’s possible, help me to secure an appointment with him.”

Emma must have felt terrible that she couldn’t meet up with Wilson. Trevor hoped that he was able to

make use of his influence to help her overcome this regret if he could.

“Alright,” Cyrus acknowledged after receiving the order and went off to do as instructed.

It was moments after Trevor ended the call with Cyrus when Christopher called again.

“Your mother is throwing tantrums at my place. If you have the time, you should come over to deal with

it,” Christopher spoke over the phone.

Trevor frowned. “Okay.”

He was well aware of the reason why his mother was causing a fracas at Christopher’s place. When

Trevor was en-route to deliver Emma’s meal earlier, he had received Alice’s call to inform him about

Arianna’s matter.

Alice had given him a lecture on the spot, but he understood that she meant that he had no conscience

because he was willing to have Arianna imprisoned and not be bailed out.

Trevor had long expected that Alice would have such a reaction, but he never backed down from his

decision. “She is in the wrong and naturally has to receive her due punishment. If this doesn’t cause

her to learn her lesson, she will cause a bigger headache for us in the future.”
