Fabian stepped closer and gently held the armrest of the wheelchair. He spoke softly, “Evelyn has never left this
villa, from childhood until now, and she remains unaware of the wonders outside, learning only from books.”
“In this room, she could recite her books from memory.” His gaze settled on the rows of bookshelves, and Elysia
could see an indescribable mix of emotions in his eyes.
It looked like nostalgia intertwined with joy. Elysia felt she could see the spirit of the girl who had passed away in
Fabian’s
expression.
Following his gaze, she imagined Evelyn sitting in the wheelchair, turning the pages of a book-she must have
looked incredibly beautiful.
Javier stood at the doorway, taking in the familiar furnishings as memories from the past seemed to float before
his eyes.
He took a few steps forward and stopped beside the bookshelf by the window. Crouching down, he picked up a
book, his slender fingers delicately flipping through its pages, a hint of a smile appearing on his gentle face.
Javier said, “This was Evelyn's favorite book during her lifetime. She always admired the strength of the
protagonist and hoped to recover quickly so she could explore the outside world.”
“Sadly, she never achieved that dream before she passed away.” As Javier spoke, a shadow of sadness crossed
his features; it was both Evelyn's sorrow and theirs.
“What illness did she have?” Elysia asked.
“The doctors could never pinpoint her condition,” Javier replied. “Her health was much weaker than her peers.
Even a slight breeze could make her sick for a long time.”
“For many years, we searched for doctors, trying to help her health. At first, we managed to maintain it quite

up in her wheelchair.”
“During that time, she spent her days in bed, and on a few sunny days, we would take her to the garden so she
could bask in the sunlight.” At that moment, Javier's eyes were filled with sorrow.
His tone carried disappointment, “But not long after, she left us, lying on that very bed, her face full of a smile,
as if she had finally found freedom.”
Everyone was suddenly transported back in tto three years ago, seeing Evelyn on that grand bed, her lips
turned up in a smile as if it had just happened yesterday.
The mood grew heavy, but it was Holden who broke the stillness, trying to lighten it. “So much thas passed;
I'm sure Evelyn wouldn't want us to be sad for her. Besides, we have found Elysia-today is a day to celebrate.”
Holden added, “Speaking of that, | met Elysia thanks to Evelyn.”
The others looked at him in confusion. Sensing their puzzlement, Holden quickly explained, “I promised Evelyn
that whenever | travel, | would visit many schools to make up for her inability to attend.
“On that day, | was in Sivro for a concert and stopped by Milton School, where | unexpectedly met Elysia. If not
for that day, 1 might have never met her.”
As Javier listened, a flicker of memory crossed his face, and a weary smile appeared. “Evelyn always asked us if
there was another version of herself out there in the world.”
Javier added, “She believed Winona hadn't left us and was somewhere just waiting for us to find her. Sometimes,
when she felt pain in her chest, she thought Winona was going through something difficult.

“Unfortunately, we dismissed her fears, thinking they were just fantasies. Looking back, it might have shown a
telepathic connection between you, an awareness of each other's situation.”
Javier locked eyes with Elysia, his voice filled with resignation. “Maybe that’s why she asked Holden to travel
between schools -to fulfill her wish in disguise, but maybe she truly wanted to find you.”
Javier said, “Her sensitive nature led her to think that if you were alive, you'd be around the right age to be in
school.”
Only then did Holden realize how significant Evelyn's request was; he thought back to the earnest look on her
face that day, wondering if she had sensed her twas running out.
Reflecting on this now, he felt a bitter irony wash over him; it seemed no one in the Evans family believed Elysia
was alive, except for Evelyn. She had to find her twin sister in this way.
From the very start, her motives had not just been about wanting to experience school life; she had hoped that
he would find Elysia.
In the end, she had succeeded. She had brought Elysia to him. Yet, he was such a fool. After all this time, he had
only just understood her true intent.
Holden inwardly scolded himself; had he questioned their first meeting, perhaps Elysia would have returned to
the Evans family long ago and avoided all this heartache.
Elysia’s eyes were wide with astonishment; she had not realized that her sister, whom she had never met, had
remembered her all this time. She was the only one who believed Elysia was still alive.
“Telepathy?’ Elysia placed her hand on her heart, recalling the sharp pains she had felt at fifteen during a harsh
winter. Maybe the mysterious illness had a reason.
She met Javier's eyes and asked, “When did she pass away?”
“Three years ago, at the end of November; that night, it snowed heavily.”
As he spoke, Elysia placed her hand over her heart and closed her eyes; her suspicions were confirmed. Those
waves of pain had been felt because her twin sister was leaving this world.
Blood relations truly are remarkable.
“Elysia, what's wrong?” Javier asked, concerned as he noticed her clutching her chest with a worried look.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmElysia asked, “Could you taketo see her?”
The three of them paused, surprised by her request, but they soon nodded in agreement. Elysia’s wish to visit
Evelyn was a good thing.
As they left the Evans residence, the car made its way down the tree-lined road, heading west before finally
stopping in front of a cemetery.
They got out of the car and followed the stone path to Evelyn's gravestone. Looking at the young girl's
photograph etched on the stone, Elysia felt tears welling up in her eyes.
They hadn't had a chance to meet, and Evelyn had already left this world.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as Elysia crouched down, her hand gently tracing the outline of the photograph.
Her heart ached once more, as if breaking anew.
With one hand resting on her chest, a gentle smile spread across her lips; perhaps they shared a telepathic
connection. The ache in her heart felt like a message, as if Evelyn were aware of her arrival.

Elysia looked at the smiling face captured in the photograph and spoke sofily, “Don’t worry; | will live fully for
both of us, exploring this world for you. Thank you for never forgetting me, my dear sister”
As she withdrew her hand and prepared to stand, her gaze fell on the inscription on a nearby tombstone that
bore Winona’s name, leaving her momentarily speechless,
