Chapter 4 Confrontation
Olympia stormed forward, her chest heaving in anger. She raised her hand high, aiming for Charmaine’s face.
But Charmaine didn’t flinch. She lifted her hand and caught Olympia’s in midair, stopping her strike.
Olympia was stunned, clearly not expecting Charmaine to dare fight back. Her usual refined, dignified demeanor
faltered, revealing her rage.
“You wretch! | should've known! You've always harbored jealousy and consistently targeted Leah. You must have
cto Leah's birthday party with ill intentions. But causing trouble once wasn’t enough for you, was it? You
went to such extrlengths to carry out such a heinous deed and bring shupon us all!”
Charmaine’s cold laugh echoed in response.
Jealous?
What did Leah have that was worth being jealous of?
Her eyes darkened. Charmaine tightened her grip, shoving Olympia away.
The once composed Olympia staggered back several steps. If it weren't for Leah supporting her, Olympia would
have certainly fallen and embarrassed herself further.
Leah shook her head. Her expression was filled with disappointment and sorrow as she gazed at Charmaine.
“Chara, Mom cares about you; that’s why she’s acting this way. How could you push her?”

She bit her lip, tears clinging to the corners of her eyes. Her voice trembled with sadness as she said, “I know
you've always hated me. If leaving would make everyone happier, then I'll never show myself before you, Mom,
Dad, or brothers ever again.”
Seeing the scene unfold, a few remaining guests—who hadn't yet been asked to leave by the Nelsons—gasped.
“She even laid hands on her own mother—how ungrateful! And look at Ms. Leah, so gentle, understanding, and
gracious. That's what real upbringing looks like. Of course, it’s because Mrs. Nelson personally raised her—she
can’t be compared to schild picked up off the streets.”
“I heard she behaved the swhen she was with the Reads. Couldn't be controlled at all, and even dropped
out of school to elope with sthug.”
“Right, right. | heard that too. She ran off to South Aspus. If the Nelsons hadn't gone looking for her, who knows
if they'd ever have found her again? That place is such a mess. No way she could have cback clean.”
“Gosh, a daughter like that isn't even worth bringing back. It’s just bad luck. Ms. Leah alone would've been
enough.”
Despite the accusations swirling around her, Charmaine’s expression remained indifferent, detached as if she
were merely an observer to the unfolding before her.
“Are you done?” she asked.
Her gaze was dark. The small red mole beneath her eye added to her alluring beauty. There was a biting sarcasm
in her tone. “Were any of you there to witness those incidents with your own eyes? Or did you just happen to be
hiding under the bed, eavesdropping when | was supposedly messing around with this trash? You think you can
destroy my reputation with baseless slander?”
Milo sneered in disdain, “Those guys were in your bed, Charmaine. Who are you trying to fool?”
Charmaine shot him a look and asked, “Oh, so you actually know you're a fool.”
“You—!"
Ignoring Milo’s glare, Charmaine walked over to the bed. She leaned down and pressed her thumb hard between
the man’s upper lip and nose.
The man jolted awake. When he saw the room full of people, he didn’t seem the least bit embarrassed. Instead,
he grinned smugly and said, “I knew it—Ms. Nelson certainly did well on bed.”
Charmaine asked, “Which Ms. Nelson are you talking about?”
“Well, obviously...”
The man had been paid for the job. He only knew that the woman in the room was Ms. Nelson. He had no idea
which one.
He hadn't seen anyone when he entered, and he had already consumed the drugs given to him. The twere
unable to resist the drug effect and knocked each other out.
Now, faced with two young women—one standing proudly beside him and the other shyly hiding behind—he
glanced between them.

Without hesitation, his lecherous gaze fixated on Leah. A sickening grin spread across his face. “Ms. Nelson,
what's with the shyness? Weren't you just begging us to be rougher?”
The room fell silent.
Leah's expression changed immediately.
Milo rushed forward and punched the man until his face was bruised and swollen. “Damn it! How dare you
slander my sister! I'll kill you!”
Alec, his face stern, ordered the security, “Take them to the police station. Find out exactly how they got in.”
At this point, Olympia realized she had wrongly accused Charmaine.
Her expression softened slightly, but her tone still carried an edge of reprimand. After all, Charmaine had
humiliated her in front of everyone. She had already been disgraced.
“What are you standing there for? Cback hwith me.”
Charmaine didn’t move.
Leah’s complexion was pale. Her voice was weak as she apologized to Charmaine. “I was too impulsive and
made everyone misunderstand you. I'm sorry.”
Charmaine replied, “Leah, you claim that | hate you, but you stole my identity, my parents, and my brothers. You
lived the life that should have been mine for eighteen years. You keep saying you'll leave, but your actions show
otherwise and keep clinging to my family. Tell me, Leah, why shouldn't | hate you?”
