Back to My Worst Birthday and Starting Anew
Chapter 187 Charity Event
Just as she was about to leave, Leah almost collided with the homeroom teacher, Mick Aguilar.
“Class is starting; where do you think you're going? Get back to your seat now!”

Leah froze, unsure whether to stay or leave.
In the end, with all eyes on her, she clenched her fists tightly and reluctantly returned to her seat.
Charmaine slowly sat back down, surprised by how well Leah was able to hold her composure.
Mick gave a quick glance. “What's all the noise about? We're having class.”
The chatter in the classroom instantly died down..
The lesson felt like an eternity to Leah, who squirmed in her seat, restless.
Finally, when the bell rang, Mick stopped everyone from leaving.

“I have something to announce,” Mick said. “Our school has partnered with a program to help universities in

report to your class rep. Each grade level also has a charity task, and for our grade, we'll be collecting old
clothes. We need to figure out the best way to organize this. Any ideas?”
The students began discussing among themselves. Veronica caught Leah's subtle hint; she gave a look toward
someone at the back of the room.
A girl from the back raised her hand. “Mr. Aguilar, since short videos are so popular right now, how about we use
them to promote our grade’s donation drive?”
Soon, others chimed in, “That's a great idea! We can divide into groups by class and shoot short videos
documenting everything!”
“Perfect! We can film the process of selecting clothes for donation. That way, it'll be clear that everyone is truly
committed to charity. Plus, it'll be real and meaningful.”
Mick nodded. “That sounds good. Any other suggestions or opinions?”
More students voiced their approval.
Mick made a final decision. “Alright, it's settled. We'll divide into groups by student ID, 15 students per group.
This is urgent, so we need to get all the videos and donated clothes ready in the next few days. Everyone, please
work hard to get it done.”
The class responded in unison. “Got it!”
Once Mick left, the students began organizing themselves into groups.
Celeste, looking displeased, glanced at Leah and Veronica, who were placed in the sgroup. She leaned over
to Charmaine and whispered, “What kind of luck is this? This is so unlucky!”
Charmaine glanced at Leah, her eyes briefly flickering with realization.

Suddenly, she understood the meaning behind Leah’s expression when she had entered the classroom earlier.
So, this was her scheme.
No wonder Leah was able to suppress her anger earlier.
Charmaine took out her phone and quickly typed out a message, sending it off.
Veronica volunteered to be the group leader. Several girls in the group had received skincare gifts from her the
previous week. With the majority agreeing, they all went along with Veronica taking charge.
Celeste was even more upset.
“All those things were a waste!”
The others overheard Celeste’s remark.
They knew her family had secured the South City project, and her family business would likely have a bright

But they had already fallen out with her before that. If they tried to act friendly again, it would be awkward.
At least Veronica was the daughter of the Jameses. Following her would probably not be such a bad idea.
Veronica glanced smugly at Celeste before making a decision. “Our group has 15 people. Ten live on campus,
and five don't. It's a lot of work, so let's focus on filming at the homes of those who don’t live on campus first.”
She scanned the room to ensure no one objected. “As the leader, I'll lead by example. I'll start by filming at my
house. To make sure the event is genuine, other members can supervise the video filming. Who wants to come
to my place?”
Veronica checked the tand said, “My housekeeper will be preparing afternoon tea around this time, so
everyone is welcto come.”
Celeste scoffed at Veronica's seemingly casual boast.
Others quickly agreed. Veronica smiled and said, “Since everyone wants to come, we'll all go together. But we'll
need to visit other students’ homes too. Wouldn't that be inconvenient?”
Celeste snorted, “My sofa’s over 60 feet long. There's plenty of room for everyone.”
Veronica clenched her teeth, uttering a silent curse. “New money, what's there to be proud of!”
Another student agreed to let everyone visit his house too.
And then there was only one person left.
Leah, her eyes red, gently bit her lip. “My house is also open to everyone, but I'm worried speople might not
want to come.”
She didn’t nanyone, but everyone knew exactly who she meant.
