After cursing herself and her bad luck for several minutes, she managed to calm down. This couldn't be as disastrous as it seemed. A child was a powerful reason for Maximus to expedite the divorce and finally recognize her as his wife.
With a clearer head, Alexia snapped a photo of one of the tests and composed a message: [We need to talk.] She hesitated, thumb hovering over the send button, but ultimately hit send.
Not expecting Maximus to delay his response, she tried calling him several times, but his phone was off.
