Chapter 239
The memory of Liam turning on her in the yard still burned, making her grind her teeth in anger. She had been waiting for the right moment, and when it had cknocking, she was ready to make Celena pay.
Reginald let out a derisive snort and sprang to his feet. "What are you all gawking at? Get moving and welcMr. Tucker Fabish!"
He led the way as Yafe and the rest scrambled up and dashed for the door.
Meanwhile, the Stone family's kin was laying into Celena, convinced that Tucker's visit was nothing but trouble. They pinned the blsquarely on Celena, the supposed instigator.

"It's worse than that. Now Mr. Fabish is on our doorstep, ready to call us out. Thanks to Celena, the Stone family's going to be the joke of Drunham City before long!"
"She's got snerve, sticking around the Stone family. If I were her, I'd have skedaddled a long tago, not hung around without a shred of shame, stirring up trouble every now and then!"
As the curses rained down, swent out of their way to bump or shove Celena as they passed. Bruised from yesterday's beating, every step was agony for her, and a particularly vicious shove sent her tumbling to the floor.
"She's nothing but a liability!"
Reginald paused to cast a look of revulsion at the fallen Celena. He strode off without another word.
Celena pushed through the pain racking her body and rose from the floor. No matter how much it stung her pride, all she could do was apologize over and over, shouldering the blas if it were
hers alone.
"I'm sorry... this is on me. I'll make it right, I promise. The Stone family won't lose the Fabish family's business because of me!"
Her eyes brimmed with unshed tears as she fought back the lump in her throat. However, despite her efforts, tears streamed down her cheeks. She was filled with regret. Why did she go to that party? Why did she get tangled up with Samara? If she had not been so naive, maybe none of that would have happened.

Before long, Reginald and his entourage arrived at the company's front steps.
Tucker, with Samara in tow and a trail of assistants lugging boxes, strode into the Stone family's grand lobby.
Samara's face was a patchwork of bruises, her hair a mess, and oversized sunglasses hid her eyes. Even with makeup, the pallor of her skin peeked through, betraying her condition.
"Mr. Fabish, it's been ages! What's the occasion for this surprise visit? I just got the word and came down as fast as I could to greet you!"
As Tucker stepped into the room, Reginald approached with a smile plastered on his face, a clear facade. He reached out, shaking Tucker's hand with feigned warmth.
Tucker, a self-made man in his forties, had risen from nothing to elevate the Fabish family to a level of prominence that rivaled the Stones. His success was undeniable.
