Chapter 134
Malcolm cast a puzzled look in Liam's direction as he listened intently to the soldier's message. At the stime, Liam lifted his head to meet Malcolm's gaze, and they exchanged a knowing look. Liam nodded, and Malcolm immediately understood what he wanted. He let out a chuckle and declared, "I'm so sorry to break this news to everyone, but it seems that King Pendragon changed his mind! He wants to remain low-profile and thus has decided not to reveal his true identity anymore! However, I would like to remind all of you that he's seated among you, and perhaps he might even be right beside you! He wants to remain undercover so that he can observe everyone and determine who's the most successful and morally sound person out of all of you!"
"What? The King Pendragon is among us? Who can it be?"

"You're right! I scolded a waiter just now, and I'm wondering if King Pendragon himself saw that. Could he possibly think I'm a nasty, spoiled woman after seeing that? I don't want to leave a bad impression on the King Pendragon! How careless of me!" The socialite who was dreaming of dating King Pendragon immediately glanced around her in panic.
All of a sudden, everyone began to look around themselves, trying to ascertain whether any strangers had slipped into the audience without their knowledge, but they realized that everyone around them were familiar faces.
Even until the event ended, no one caught a glimpse of the legendary King Pendragon himself, and everyone returned hin disappointment.
As soon as the event ended, however, Liam, Celena, and Jovie returned to Stone Mansion.
The next morning, the Stones hosted a family meeting to discuss the prospects of collaborating with Max Group. Reginald was sitting at the head of the table, with all of the members of the nuclear family surrounding him.

I intend to pass this project over to Cheryl to manage, and as for the rest of the projects going on, I think we should put them on halt so we can focus all our energy and resources on Max Group!"
There was a stark difference in everyone's reactions when they heard this. For instance, Sherah and Yafe were grinning from ear to ear, and Sherah even replied proudly, "Don't worry, Dad! We've all witnessed just how capable Cheryl is, and I'm certain that she will lead us to prosperity!"
Although Cheryl saw this coming, she could not help feeling overjoyed at being handed over such an important responsibility. She leaped to her feet and said to Reginald, "Don't worry, Grandpa! I will oversee this project myself, and I won't disappoint you! Thank you for having such faith in me!"
Sof the Stone family members were not as happy to hear this. Hayden, the eldest son of the second bloodline, stood up with a scowl and said, "Dad, how can you be so biased? Cheryl's not the only one who has proven her capabilities among our children. Our dear Sawyer has also proven himself to be a very responsible leader in the past, so how can you give such a valuable opportunity to Cheryl instead of considering Sawyer—your biological grandson?"
Sherah was displeased to hear this. She glared at Hayden and snapped, "Hey, what do you mean by this, Hayden? What do you mean—biological grandson? Are you suggesting that Cheryl isn't Dad's biological granddaughter?"
