That goal was enough to seal the game for Unique FC as the referee blew his whistle thrice a little while after the restart to finally bring the match to an end.
"There's the whistle and it is all over," Jim said. "Unique FC fought hard, they knew they had to win this match and in the end, they succeeded in coming out on top."
"Yeah, and now they're back in second place, they could have gone to first place but Supreme United managed to force out a goal victories in both of their matches, they're not in their best form at that moment."
"Yeah, they drew three of their UCL group stage matches and lost one, they're currently sitting at the bottom of the table, I'm pretty sure Unique FC or Dynamo FC would beat them if they were to face each other now."
"Yeah, that's highly likely."
Zetoro United players didn't really look that sad for people who just lost a match.
Dust made his way to Mateo and after chatting with him for a while, he asked for a shirt swap which the winger didn't have any reason to reject.
Dave was standing near the sidelines chatting with Freyan, the midfielder didn't want a shirt swap though, he just wanted to talk to him about something.
Fredinho was announced as the man of the match which was understandable.
The striker was pretty exceptional in the match today, scoring the first goal and coming up with a lot of chances.
"The upcoming week will be another week without a league match for Unique FC as they will be facing Sunglow United in the second round of the Bilbeth Super Cup and then they'll be traveling to West Ham United on Thursday." Jim articulated.
"They're doing quite well so far this season, I wonder how long they can keep it up," Steve said.
"Well, they've proven to be quite consistent so far this season fourteen matches and still second place and Dave is on the right track to breaking the record for the most clean sheets in a single season, ten clean sheets in fourteen and that's counting in the fact that he didn't play the match against Dynamo FC." Jim expressed.
"Remind me again, Jim, what is the most clean sheets kept in a season and who has it?" Steve asked.
"Oh, that record was set quite a long time ago by Devon Richards so it was a record set by a Unique FC player, he kept thirty clean sheets, they won the league that season," Jim explained.
"Thirty-two clean sheets, that is insane, that also has to be the most clean sheets kept in a season in all of Europe, right?"
"Yeah, it actually is."
"That's even more insane and will be way more insane if Dave succeeds in breaking it this season, I guess the goalkeeping gene does run in their bloodline."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAfter that, the commentators ended their broadcast.
There were players being interviewed outside and as soon as Mateo made his way down the tunnel to catch up with Dave, his path was blocked by a female journalist who just wanted to ask him some questions just like she had done with a few other players who had gone by.
The winger had no choice but to go along with it.
"So, Mateo, you guys just beat Zetoro United to return to second place in the league just three points behind Supreme United, how do you feel about your current position in the league table?" She asked.
"Um…we were in this same position last two weeks ago so I feel the same way I felt then." The winger replied with a straight face.
"And that is?"
After she asked that question, the winger let out a deep breath.
"We struggled a lot last season to finish in eighth place and this season we're in the title race just three points behind Supreme United who have a great team by the way, so that's obviously something to be happy about." He expressed.
"Okay." The reporter said. She sounded like she wanted to hear more. "You are also the frontrunner for the golden boot and playmaker award this season with fourteen goals and twelve assists in fourteen matches.
"You missed out on both awards last season finishing fourth in the golden boot race and second in the run for the playmaker award. How do you feel about this and do you think you can pull both of them off with last season's winners Roland and Seth behind you?"
"Um…I really can't say given the fact that the season hasn't even gone halfway yet, I'm only two goals ahead of Roland, he's a great striker who can double up and overtake at any moment so it's going to be pretty hard to win the golden boot."
"And what about the Playmaker award?"
"Well, I am already five assists ahead of Seth and that's quite funny because I was just one ahead of him the other day." The winger said this time smiling a little. "Just like the golden boot race this one isn't going to be easy because Seth is an extraordinary playmaker but in terms of difficulty I'll say this one is going to be easier than fighting for the golden boot."
"Alright, I think that's all, thank you for staying."
"You're welcome." The winger said before quickly leaving the scene.
He made his way to the locker room where he found his teammates and was quite surprised to see Minino sitting quietly on his side.
He made his way to Dave, and after sitting beside him, he leaned closer to whisper something to him.
"What is wrong with Minino?" He asked.
"I don't know, he just came in and sat down, maybe he must be tired from the match." The goalkeeper replied.
"I think he's just trying to confuse us but if he's really tired then that's a first."
"I guess we're on the same boat then, I'm also expecting him to jump up at any moment and start his routine."

'Now, I'm beginning to question how this match rating works, it was good at first, but now it's just confusing.'
<This is a fair rating according to your contributions in the match, where's the problem?>
'I was rated 7.7 by the official match ratings.'
<Which is the wrong evaluation, they're clearly starting to overrate you now>
'So, you're saying I'm overrated?'
<Not exactly, but still most good players are overrated to an extent for the really good players you won't really notice but for some, you will just see how blown out of proportion it is>
'I guess I can't argue with you there.'
<You won't be able to come up with anything even if you tried>
'Hey, chill, you're not usually this aggressive, are you on your period or something?'
<You know that's not possible>
'Yeah, it was a joke to put you in a lighter mood.'

After hearing her say that, he let out an inward sigh.
'You know for someone who claims not to be human which is understandable because you don't have a physical form, you sure change moods a lot and seem to have all the moods humans have.'
After saying all that, there was no response from Catherine and even after calling her several times, she refused to respond.
'I'm confused because I don't even know what I did this time.'
Norman soon came in to talk to the players about a couple of times and after that, they were all allowed to leave.
In the end, it turned out that Minino really was tired or maybe he just wasn't in the mood for running around today.
Mateo made his way home as soon as possible because the sky was already dark and after parking his vehicle inside the parking lawn, he made his way up to his apartment.
"What's that sweet smell?" He muttered as he put in the codes to open the door.
After opening the door, he made his way inside to discover that the sweet smell was coming from inside his home and the thought of someone breaking into his house just sent shivers down his spine.
"Who's there?" He asked as he slowly approached the kitchen area.
He was half expecting something bad to happen until…
"Oh, hey there." He heard a familiar voice.
After that, she popped out her head so that she could see him.
"Amber?" He said with a shocked expression on his face. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, you told me you don't always have the strength to cook something after your matches so I decided to pop by and help you with that today." She explained.
"Okay, but how did you get in?"
"Huh? You told me your password, remember?"
"Huh?"
"You said it was your birthday plus three question marks and an M." She expressed. "It was that one time you wanted me to drop something off for you."
"Oh, I forgot about that." The winger said before slapping his palm into his face.
