Chapter 53 To think he would actually hold her up.
By 'hold', Willow didn't mean this.
Mr. Hughes probably didn't learn his language well so he couldn't understand what she meant.
Willow was lifted to the point where her heels had left the ground, so she had to stand on tiptoes. Her other arm was grasping her tray tightly in fear of the red wine shattering to the ground. Those were worth twenty thousand dollars.
Held in her hand was twenty-thousand dollars worth of red wine. Standing before her was a man's icy expression with a blizzard raging behind his dark eyes, threatening to freeze her whole being. Willow's chest tightened under the pressure and she panicked.
Her eyelashes were quivering as she blinked nervously. She urged in a weak voice, "Mr. Hughes, calm down. Please putdown. I can't breathe..." She was wearing a tight-fitted V-neck dress. His fist was pressing against her throat when he lifted her by the collar, and his knuckles were obstructing her breathing.

Willow was terrified. She was weak as an ant in the presence of Jasper's masculinity. It felt as if he could crush her to death at any moment.
Jasper's cold gaze was on her. Her cheek had reddened from the suffocation, and further down, her thighs were about to be exposed as a result of him lifting her up by her short dress. The other three men in the room were watching them eagerly.
They could easily notice Willow's thighs with the way they were staring.
Jasper felt a spark of irritation and frowned. He let her go.
Having lost the man's support, Willow lost her balance and staggered backward. She tried hard to balance herself, but it didn't work. She fell to the ground with a thud.
The tray and red wine she had been clutching onto fell to the ground as well.
The red wine smashed onto the marble floor. The glass bottles shattered into pieces, and the red liquid splattered everywhere.
It was as if Willow's heart had shattered as well. Her jaw dropped in shock, and she didn't even care about the aching pain in her butt. The floor was covered in glass shards and red wine with bits of foam.
Willow quickly got up into a kneeling position to stare at the mess. She grabbed her hair and cried in distress, "No! My wine! Sob..." She had burst into tears, unable to handle the pressure.
That was twenty thousand. She couldn't afford it even if she sold herself.
She was here to earn money, not lose it.
Her wages were reducing, but her debt was increasing.
She had four mouths to feed at home, and she needed the money to buy milk powder and winter clothes.

The image of her kneeling before the spilled wine and crying white pulling her hair confused everyone. Wyatt and the others exchanged glances, wondering what was wrong.
Jasper watched as Willow broke down in front of him, crying her heart out.
The anger she had roused in him subsided significantly He leakedn down at her with a frown and asked, "Are you crazy?" Upon hearing this, Willow looked up with tears in her eyes and glared at him begrudgingly.
"You're the one who's crazy. You broke the wine bottle, 9 pay up! Sob the wine soba" she accused in tears.
