Chapter 210

Joshua could not be bothered with small talk with Yoel. “Carefully investigate who Jayleen

has been with over the past two years, and also look into the person in the photo from last

time.”

“Okay,” Yoel promptly agreed.

Ending the call, Joshua lay on the bed, feeling exhausted. He rubbed his temples and

headed back to the bedroom to rest.

The divorce could not be delayed beyond today. Without a suitable reason, he could not

deceive Cynthia either.

Amidst various complex emotions, he fell into a deep sleep.

In his dream, Joshua saw Cynthia dressed in a black leather jacket with a group of

bodyguards wearing black clothes and sunglasses behind her. He tried to catch up with

her and ask who she was, but he realized that a gun was pressed against his temple

The person holding the gun was Cynthia herself, and her face exhibited an unfamiliar

coldness as she pulled the trigger, emotionlessly ending his life.

Before he died, he heard Cynthia saying, “Mission accomplished. Target eliminated.”

Joshua abruptly woke up, quickly wiping the sweat off his forehead. After adjusting his

breathing and calming his emotions, his eyes grew somewhat darker.

Just then, his phone rang

Joshua composed himself before picking it up, and he frowned when he noticed that it was

Cynthia. Ultimately, he still answered, “Hello”

When Cynthia heard the raspy voice on the other end of the line, she froze.

Yoel did not lie to her?

“Where are you now?” Cynthia asked.

“I’m in Sovereign Heights,” Joshua replied. His mental state was not the best due to his

dreams and lack of sleep. “What’s up?

“Yoel said you spent a lot of time looking for me last night, and Chyler took you away for a

discussion in the middle of the night. I called to ask when you’ll be able to rest well and

proceed with the divorce,” Cynthia probed, observing his reaction.

Joshua instantly became more alert when he heard the word ‘divorce‘.

He also realized one thing even if he were severely injured and lying in a hospital bed,

Cynthia might still carry him to the Civil Affairs Bureau to finalize the divorce.

“Bring the necessary documents to Sovereign Heights to pick me up. I’ll change my

clothes and wait for you.” Joshua’s voice was somewhat hoarse, and he did not insist on

making her stay.

Cynthia paused for a moment before answering, “Olay,”

Then, they hung up the phone.

Jimmy, who had been by Cynthia’s side all along, could not help but as curiously, “How did

it go?”

“I don’t think he was faking it. He sounded really tired. If he wanted to delay the divorce,

he would not have asked me to come and pick him up just now.” Cynthia took the

prepared documents from the table.

“That’s good!” Jimmy felt relieved.

Cynthia nodded in agreement.

Considering that she would not stay in Jiverton for too long after this, she asked Jimmy,

“You’re planning to stay in Jiverton for a couple more days, right?”

2/2

“Yes.” firmy nodded. Originally, he intended to pick up Cynthia, but after arriving, he

discovered that Jiverton had a lot of tasty delicacies. Since there were no available seats

on Mitchell and Cynthia’s flight, he decided to have a two–day fun before returning.

“When the time comes, help me hand over this apartment to the real estate agent for

sale. Move the stuff to the suburban villa. Il send you the address later, Cynthia informed

him.

Jimmy readily agreed, saying, “Olay.”
