Chapter 1316

After her heart stopped for a moment, it pounded quickly.  It was Alden!

He actually showed up in front of her house.

Just as Nerola was about to go over and open the door, she suddenly stopped walking. She lowered her head and

sized herself up.

Her hair was wet, and she was in a bathrobe as well as slippers. She was not fully dressed, and she looked

slovenly.

How could she meet him like this?  Her face instantly turned red.

“Hang… Hang on!” She wore her slippers and tried to change her outfit while she blow–dried her hair. Her room

was on the right, while the hair dryer was on the left. After she struggled for a while, she became dizzy.

He knocked on the door again, and the faster rhythm indicated the person’s emotions at that moment.  Nerola

stood still and felt like crying.

Fine, she would resign herself to fate and just be.

If he wanted to despise her, she could not do anything about it.

She had blocked his number and ignored him for so long, so she guessed that she had already offended him.

Nerola walked forward and opened the door.

Outside the door, the tall and slender man looked noble  and indifferent. His hand was still in the middle of

knocking on the door.

When he saw her open the door, he stared at her and raised his eyebrows. He seemed slightly surprised.

Nerola knew that he was surprised by her appearance. She blushed and said, “I’m sorry. I… I didn’t hear you

knocking just now.”

After she said that, she wanted to bite her tongue off.

She had been too perfunctory in her lying.

Her apartment was not big. How could she not hear the knocks on the door?

Alden nodded. He looked away and said, “You can go ahead with your day.”

After he said that, he turned around, seemingly ready to leave.

“Young… Young Master Alden! Wait!” Nerola quickly stopped him.

Alden did not seem to expect that. He turned sideways a little but not all the way back. “What’s wrong?”

The light in the hallway was slightly dim. When it shone on his side profile, he looked warmer and less indifferent.

Nerola looked at him but did not know what to say. She just instinctively thought that she could not let him leave in

anger.

“The message earlier… I didn’t know it was from you. I thought I was… being harassed,” Nerola explained

intermittently.

Alden’s body became stiff. He turned back and stared at  her firmly.

She resumed, “So… I blocked the number. I didn’t know that, you were waiting downstairs either.”

She plucked up her courage to finish talking, but when  she raised her head, she saw Alden looking at her

affectionately.

She was somewhat stunned. After she realized what she had said, her face turned red again.

“No… Nope! I’m just trying to explain! After all, you’re Ninian’s brother.”

Alden’s smile grew brighter. “Is that the only reason?”  Nerola nodded strongly.

Alden acted as if he felt gloomy. “Oh, I got it.”

After he said that, he turned back and tried to leave again.

“Alden!” Nerola felt anxious, so she ran two steps forward.

She forgot that she was wearing slippers, so it was inconvenient to move. She accidentally kicked the sill at the

entrance, and it hurt so much that she gasped and bent down.

When Alden saw this, his expression instantly changed. He quickly turned back and helped her.

“Did you injure your foot?”

Nerola’s complexion turned pale as she gasped and  nodded.

Alden pursed his lips and carried her straight away.

“Ah!”

Nerola screamed in shock. She subconsciously held his neck, and they entered the living room while he carried

her.

His arms were warm and broad. They held warmth that  she had never felt ever since she was little.

She stared blankly at his smooth jawline and became  somewhat absent–minded.
