Chapter 71
Jocelyn turned around immediately and caught sight of Skyler protecting her behind his back. He then
cast an icy look at Abel. Abel did not let go of Jocelyn’s arm. Abel was stunned when he noticed Skyler.
He then scoffed, “Moore the Second, why are you involved in everything? Does my relationship with Lil
Sis have anything to do with you?” Skyler cast a hateful glance at Abel’s hand on Jocelyn’s arm. “Let go
of her!”
Abel’s smile faded. “What if I don’t let go of her?”
Skyler grabbed Jocelyn’s other arm. “Don’t blame me for what I’ll do to you!” Abel looked at him in a
nonchalant manner. “Really? I’d like to see what you’d do to me!” Skyler’s oppressive aura heightened as
he reached out to grab the hand that Abel had wrapped around Jocelyn’s arm. He then tried to pry his
hand off her. Some reporters looked over when they noticed the tension between the two of them.
Jocelyn frowned and said, “Both of you are hurting my arms!” Both men instantly let go of her arms.
Jocelyn withdrew her arms at once. There was an unpleasant look on her face. “Please continue arguing
if you want to. Just don’t get me involved. I don’t want everyone to watch me like I’m a circus performer!”
Jocelyn retreated a few steps after speaking. Skyler’s gaze grew heavier. He remained silent as he flung
Abel’s hand away and took out his handkerchief. He wiped his hands all over carefully. It was as if Abel
was full of dirt. Abel’s lips twitched as he huffed coldly. He turned around to look at Jocelyn. His gaze

hospital last evening. He glanced at Jocelyn in amusement as an excited glint flashed in his eyes. “Lil
Sis, I won’t force you if you don’t want to celebrate with me. However, you should really consider joining
Glory Jewelry. I’m way easier to deal with than Moore the Second. I don’t restrict employees from making
friends, and neither do I force them to line up. I’m an extremely kind boss.” Skyler’s expression darkened
instantly. Jocelyn had an icy expression on her face as she told him, “Thank you for your kindness.
However, I have no intentions of changing companies right now!” Jocelyn walked to the side of her car.
She looked at Skyler, who had a heavy expression on his face. “Excuse me, President Moore. I need to
leave!” Skyler cast a heavy glance at her. He then turned around and walked toward his own car.
Jocelyn got into her car and drove off.
Skyler’s car drove away as well.
Abel smirked, but his smile did not reach his eyes. He muttered to himself, “It’s a pity for a talent like that
to be by Moore the Second’s side!” As soon as Jocelyn drove into the car park of Prosperity Jewelry,
Skyler’s car stopped beside her. Jocelyn recalled what had just happened outside the court. She felt that
she should explain herself.
When Skyler got down his car, he saw Jocelyn walking toward him calmly. There was a serious
expression on her face as she said, “President Moore, things aren’t like what you witnessed between
Abel and me just now. Before the trial, he took the initiative to help me get out of trouble. After the trial, I
didn’t bother him, but he insisted on chasing me out to ask me to celebrate…”
Before she could finish speaking, Skyler interrupted her coldly. “I know that!”
Jocelyn gaped and looked at Skyler with a disconcerted expression on her face. She did not seem to
understand his reaction.
He had told her to keep her distance from Abel last night.
Nevertheless, Abel kept following her around today. She wanted to explain things to Skyler since she
thought that he would be displeased about it.

face. He glanced at Jocelyn and said, “Yale told me about it!”
After speaking, he walked toward the elevator straight away.
Jocelyn came to her senses at once. Was he implying that he knew what had happened?
Did he come over to help her out just now?
Jocelyn never dared to expect anything from Skyler. As soon as she had such a thought about him, she
shook her head and stopped thinking about it at once. Jocelyn walked toward the elevator. Just then, she
heard someone calling out to her. Yvie caught up with her as soon as she turned around. “Jocelyn, I

Yvie looked so overjoyed that it seemed like she was the one who had won the lawsuit instead. “My

She had just spoken out loud when she saw Skyler in the president’s elevator. She then said something
else at once. “Director Claude has arrived. He’s in the design department. He said that he wanted to get
an overlook of the jewelry design process.”
Skyler clearly heard what she said. He suddenly raised his head to look over at them with a heavy
expression on his face.
For some reason, Jocelyn looked at him instinctively as well.
Their gazes met as the elevator doors gradually closed.
Yvie noticed that Jocelyn was not saying anything. She then touched her arm and asked, ” Jocelyn, why
aren’t you saying anything?” Jocelyn returned to her senses. “Oh, I heard what you said. Let’s go. Since
Director Claude is here, we shouldn’t let him wait for long!”
