Remaining solemn as he watched the quadrant leader's HP gradually return to its peak through the status screen, Valyr felt a bit of regret at the thought of having use all of his ultimate moves from the very start.

'Well, at the very least, this boss only increased in tier,' thought Valyr to himself, inwardly letting out a sigh of relief at the thought.

Though he did not have access to the most destructive moves in his arsenal while fighting against this version of the primitive leader, he was still confident in beating it with the moves he did have access to.

Continuing to watch everything unfold, Valyr eventually noticed the mana barrier surrounding the quadrant leader gradually dissipating on its own.

Taking a look at its status screen, he noticed that it had already returned to what it was before the fight. With that, he got into a battle stance and prepared himself to take initiative.

"Grroooggghhh…"

As for the quadrant leader, after reaching a state far stronger than before, it slowly stood up on its own two feet before locking eyes at the human that stood a fair distance away from it.

With thoughts of what had transpired earlier echoing through its mind, its eyes soon glistened with limitless rage, recalling how it could not even land a single hit on its opponent.

Noticing this change in expression, Valyr placed the spear on his back before taking out the magic scepter. After all, from the looks of it, it seemed that the quadrant leader was going to make its move.

Yet, against all odds…

Whoosh!

After letting out a strong exhale, the quadrant leader cast a barrier of mana around it once more as the aura it emanated started to fluctuate.

Then…

Swoosh!

Out of nowhere, the quadrant leader's aura began to climb to an even higher peak, causing Valyr to distance himself from it even further.

While doing so, he took a look at the status screen he had brought up of the quadrant leader, feeling like the situation was now turning from bad to worse.

"Level 91… 92…" Seeing that everything on its status screen was gradually increasing, Valyr soon landed his eyes on the quadrant leader's level, wondering if it would stop near the peak of Rank 5 or reach it.

Naturally, at this point, the young man decided to make a move, sending a barrage of crimson blades at the quadrant leader in the hopes of not letting the situation worsen any further.

Unfortunately…

Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh!

As if the barrier of mana was made out of the sturdiest material known to man, the crimson blades dispelled into motes of crimson light the very moment the two collided.

Even increasing the number of crimson blades he sent at the quadrant leader did not change a thing.

At this point, Valyr began to feel dread at the thought of fighting against the empowered quadrant leader as many thoughts began to course through his mind.

'Would I have been able to pierce through the first barrier while the quadrant leader was still laying down?'

'Or was the inheritance made in a way where it would be impossible for one to kill a quadrant leader at its first phase?'

Then again, wonder as he might, that still did not stop the quadrant leader from getting stronger.

Eventually, its growth had reached a plateau as its aura made it seem like it stood at the top of the world.

In front of its aura, one would feel like it was an existence that stood above the beings of the inheritance.

Perhaps, even above many of the species that roamed Veldanyr.

Nevertheless, one thing was for certain.

Its current state…

Stood above Valyr.

Seeing that Valyr had brought up a status screen of the quadrant leader as it laid down on the ground, Hal and the others had also done the same thing.

At first, they were surprised to see a mana barrier appear around the quadrant leader's body, prompting them to realize that the quadrant leader seemed to have survived Valyr's attack by an inch of its life.

Then, the four of them were left at a loss for words after seeing the quadrant leader stand up once more, its aura greatly stronger than before.

"Level 100…" Looking at the screen in front of him, Hal began to doubt the confidence he had gathered earlier at fighting against a quadrant leader.

After all, the gap that now stood between them and the quadrant leader was nigh insurmountable at this point.

If anything, he was more than certain that he could only deal points of damage to the quadrant leader at its current state.

Yet, as if the world was playing a cruel joke on all five of them, the quadrant leader's strength rose to an ever higher peak one last time, the change brought by it already visible on their screens.

"Guys." Feeling his pupils shrink in terror at the information he had just received, Hal looked at the other three beside him and spoke in a solemn tone.

"Prepare yourselves."

"It seems we might have to help Valyr out."

Just as Valyr was trying to reconcile with the fact that he was now standing in front of an opponent whose strength now far exceeded its earlier state, the quadrant leader decided to give him one last surprise.

Whoosh!

As the barrier of mana began to gradually dissipate around itself, the quadrant leader's skin began to take on a shade of red as its eyes turned bloodshot.

In response, the aura it emanated had seemingly broken through a bottleneck, causing even the primitive humanoids that roamed far away to realize that a near-invincible being had appeared within the north quadrant.

"[Shadow W—!" Noticing that the quadrant leader had already begun to move in his direction, Valyr swiftly activated one of his evasive skills as he thought there was still time to do so.

But, before he could even fully activate the skill…

Bang!
