After fully understanding his current strength after having received so many statistical points, Noah finally felt that he understood his new strength. It would be a disaster if he needed to throw something from the next car, but because of a lack of understanding of his own strength, Noah, instead of throwing the object at one of the Blessed, would end up using so much force that he accidentally killed a Blessed One.
This kind of situation would have been difficult to happen if Noah threw something at one of the warriors, since because of their Blessings, they had a strength greater than that of a normal human by a considerable margin, but if that had happened to a wizard, there was nothing they could do but receive the object head on at high speed.
"Okay, so we're probably dealing with a case of political kidnapping, seeing as it wouldn't make sense for the other dwarfs to die and Mufag's parents not to be among the corpses since they were apparently the only ones with a high political position," Noah told the group his deduction of the situation so far.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Yes, and on top of that, we only found male bodies; the bodies of the female dwarves are nowhere to be found," Marcel said, reminding Noah of a fact that he had forgotten.
"Maybe the women have something special about them?" Jasper asked with a hand on his chin.
Hearing what Jasper said, Noah remembered that the bodies of male dwarfs only gave him 'strength' statistics. 'Perhaps the dwarf men are just warriors and the positions of magic and support actually belong to women? If I purify a female dwarf, would I gain another statistic?' Noah started to wonder.
Hearing what they were saying through Noah's side of the conversation, who, at no time intended to hide from Mufag what they were saying, made the little dwarf understand what their question was and answer Noah even though no one had asked him.
"Excuse me, Noah... What are you talking about?... We dwarves are not like you humans. While you were fighting, I saw that man using lightning spells, and during the battle I saw you using fire magic, and in the same way I saw that woman over there getting stronger with her shield," Mufag said as he pointed to whom he was talking. "We dwarves are different. In fact, among dwarves, only men can pray to gods related to war or the forge, while dwarven women can only pray to gods related to life, prosperity, or forge support."
"The Forge? So your species really likes to forge objects like swords, armor, and that sort of thing? I thought it was just a pretty prejudiced stereotype," Noah said as he raised an eyebrow at what Mufag was saying. He wasn't going to lie that he thought dwarfs could really be master smiths, but thinking it might sound quite racist, Noah decided to keep that feeling to himself. But since Mufag already confirmed something like that himself, he had no reason not to think that way anymore.
"Yes, dwarves are well known among other races because of the high level of our forge crafting in our galaxy," Mufag said proudly.
That single sentence brought many doubts to Noah. "Your galaxy? Other races?" Noah asked with wide eyes.
Hearing what Noah said, the other assembled Blessed were also very surprised. Noah was speaking in English to the little dwarf, but in their minds, they were communicating through signals. But since Noah was speaking in English, they were able to fully understand what Noah was talking about.
"Yes, do not humans have their own galaxy as well? My father had once told me that humans had conquered a galaxy of their own, but because of your low level of technology, you were unable to locate any of the other races, other than those that might have been interested in interacting with you because you apparently have nothing to offer. But I know now that they are wrong! We dwarves have many powerful warriors, but to have a strength equal to yours they would require a lot of practice. If you are so young and yet have this sort of strength, humans probably have warriors powerful enough to be highly regarded among dwarves," Mufag said in a slightly apologetic tone when he realized he was speaking ill of his savior's species in front of him. He just didn't know that Noah was an exception among the Blessed. Perhaps only a Blessed Rank A or higher would have a strength as high as Noah's to go up against such a strong Boss practically alone.
Noah didn't care what Mufag was saying about humans. His mind was too busy to realize that they were really part of the same universe. The only difference was that the dwarves did not want to have contact with humans.
But if they were in the same universe, then it meant that the Fortresses were actually portals that took them to other places in the universe and the monsters they killed were real monsters.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSomething that was common knowledge among humans was that the Fortress monsters had a great hatred for humans, to the point of not caring between dying just to get a human killed, or seriously injuring them.
It was a fact that the monsters inside the Fortresses were not responsible for opening the portals that took humans to them, since it was an "objective" to kill the Fortress's Boss so that it would disappear.
'Perhaps whoever is in control of these Fortresses actually just chose monsters that attack anyone? Mufag mentioned that dwarves also prayed to gods. Are they the same gods that humans pray to? Probably... No… Damn, the more information I have, the more doubts arise in my head! It is no coincidence that Socrates' statements have survived to this day,' Noah thought when he realized that he identified a lot with one of Socrates' most iconic phrases:
"The more knowledge I have, the more I know I know nothing. But put me in front of a man who thinks he knows something… and I know I am better off than him. Fore he thinks he knows something and yet knows nothing."
Noah had to stop talking to process some of the information. He had discovered so much just then when talking to Mufag that if his brain was a computer processor, he would be working at 98%, just leaving 2% for himself not to have a short circuit and burn out. But if he had more processing power somehow, he would definitely be using all of it. When thinking about everything Mofag said, possibilities arose in Noah's mind that he had to factor into the probabilities of what he could do, what would be beneficial to him, and what he would definitely do.
Despite the train that they had appeared on appearing to be very technologically delayed, after hearing what Mufag said, Noah had no reason to keep the same thought. In every corner he looked on the train, he found some detail that did not match any description of retro technology.
When crossing the door to the next car, everything was dark, just like the previous car. But this time, the humans were in no hurry to create something that would illuminate the place, since they didn't know what would be there. If the Boss they had fought a few minutes ago was already so problematic, thinking about what they would face up ahead worried them a lot.
