open the door, | forgot.”
Ellie turned to leave the dining room, but Alex pressed her down into the chair. “You worked hard last night. |

Alex sat next to Ellie and tried to feed her with a spoon.

Alex noticed her hesitation but continued. “You really think I'm just going to use you and not care about you?”

“I'm not uncomfortable there!” Ellie said, gritting her teeth.
Alex stopped and, seeing Ellie’s embarrassment, guessed, “Do you want to go to the hospital?”
“I haven't had that feeling since | had the kids. | can’t handle it. Just letrest for a few days, and I'll be fine,”
Ellie said softly, trying to comfort him.
Alex stared at her, his eyes shifting. He closed the door and, in a passionate kiss, pinned Ellie against the door.
