Chapter 566 Mark held Lacey in a long embrace, reluctant to let go. The quiet atmosphere was only broken by the sound of their heartbeats. Nestled in Mark's arms, Lacey discreetly took out her phone to send a message to Diana, She was focused on playing her role, trusting Mark to handle everything else. If she could keep up this act as Mark's wife for a year without anyone discovering their secret, she could walk away without any consequences. She wouldn't need to spend a penny, and Mark would even give her money. She figured that would be a good deal for her.

Only Diana and Ellie knew about her deal with Mark, and she needed Diana's help to convince Mark to let her leave the town.

Finally, the tickets for Sebastian's upcoming concert and just the thought of meeting him soon excited Lacey sa much that she messaged Diana several times in quick succession.

Diana was waiting outside Aaron's workplace when she saw Lacey's messages cthrough.

Although Mark had talked about a year-long marriage, the party they held looked more like a wedding. The guest list and the champagne served at the party had all been arranged by Mark himself.

Even though the media hadn't picked up the story yet, everyone at the scene already knew about the marriage between Mark and Lacey, as well as the alliance between their families.

So far, Lacey was the only one trying to keep it from her friends. She daydreamed about a year from now, when she could take her money and run off with her new handslover.

Understanding how difficult it would be for a man like Mark to find a wife, Lacey felt it was her duty to help him keep his wife.

As Diana typed a message back to Lacey, she looked up just in tto see Aaron coming through the main entrance with scolleagues. Noticing Diana, he suddenly turned to walk away in another direction.

"Aaron, your girlfriend is here to pick you up from work," several colleagues teased, playfully nudging him toward Diana.

"I haven't said a word, yet your ears are already turning red," Diana teased, tugging at Aaron's collar and standing on her toes to get a better look at his flushed ears.

"Let go, my colleagues are still around," Aaron said, pushing Diana away and rubbing his warm ears.

When he noticed Diana looking at him curiously, he turned his face away. "Where did you park your car?" he asked.

"I didn't drive," Diana replied with a shrug.

"Get in my car first," Aaron urged, pulling Diana towards his car and handing her a bottle of water.

"Aaron, ever since the day you drunkenly left my house, ignored my calls, and disappeared, what were you trying to accomplish?" Diana pressed, fixing her gaze on him.

Aaron turned to look out the car window and took a sip of water.

"You can drink my water so casually but you ran off from my house?" o'm Diana teased again, prompting Aaron to turn back and realize he was holding her water bottle. He capped it and set it aside. Seeing Aaron's hesitation and reluctance to answer, Diana pinched his arm playfully. "Aaron, I'm asking you."

Feeling her pinch, Aaron reluctantly took her hand. "I really did drink too m much that night I didn't mean to say all that, he finally started to explain after avoiding the topic for days. "Is your dad very angry?" 1/2 06:38 Fri, 28 Feb SD.
