Chapter 298 80% Ellie glanced at Alex, then at Justin Warren, who was lying on the bed. She couldn't help but frown. This was just too much of a coincidence.
"Wait, Uncle Alex, I haven't seen you in over a decade! I just got back to the country and you're already hitting me, huh?" Justin finally realized something was off and scrambled to sit up in bed.
Alex turned around to face Ellie. He met her cold gaze and seemed to hesitate, wanting to say something but holding back.

As soon as Ellie was gone, Justin swung his legs over the bed and got up. "Uncle Alex, what do you think of this girl? She looks weak but fights really fiercely. I quite like her." Alex turned around, looking at Justin, who was grinning widely. It made Alex even angrier. "Don't even think about it!" Justin tapped his head with his finger. "Con, Uncle Alex, you agree that she's fierce, right? Look, she even knockedout." Alex's gaze landed on Justin's bandaged forehead, and he couldn't hide his irritation. "Did she do this?" "Of course," Justin replied confidently.
Before Justin could finish his sentence, Alex raised his hand and ripped off the bandage with a swift motion. "Ouch!" Justin winced, sharply sucking in a breath. “That hurts!” "That looks horrible. Alex stood still, staring at the closed door of the lounge. His feet felt like they were glued to the ground, unable to move forward. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to leave either. He just stood there, pacing back and forth in frustration.
The frustration was driving Alex crazy.
Alex had visited this lounge countless times. Each the came, he would carefully cup with different excuses. Even if they had argued or if she had cried because of him, he never missed a chance to see her.
He wanted to see her face change with all sorts of emotions because of him-happy, upset, anything. He feared that if he didn't make an effort to find her, she would forget about him completely.
He used to believe he must have been the most important person in her life, more so than even Aaron. After all, during her lonely youth, the person who spent his every moment with her and protected her with his life was him.
