Chapter 247
Elena's face instantly turned pale. She gritted her teeth and was about to speak when Natalie's voice rang out
from outside the door.
"How is Dexter doing?"
Elena's expression brightened immediately. She shot Angela a meaningful glance before stepping outside to
greet Natalie.
"You're finally here, Mrs. Bamford Senior," Elena said, supporting Natalie as she walked in. "Dexter is injured. You
should go check on him."
Natalie hurried into the hospital room and asked Dexter various questions. When she saw that he didn't seem to
be in extrpain, she finally relaxed a little.
"Aren't you going to ask what exactly happened? Aren't you curious how Dexter ended up like this, Mrs. Bamford
Senior?" Elena prompted.
But Natalie didn't go along with Elena's deliberate attempt to steer the conversation in a particular direction. It
was as if she already knew the answer.

you should try a different activity next time."
Natalie had spoken gently in a negotiating tone.
Angela's eyes grew misty. She nodded and said, "I know."
At that moment, Mia stepped forward to apologize. "Mrs. Bamford Senior, I'm partly to be blamed for this. I"
Natalie interrupted, "Silly child. The investigation is still ongoing, and there's no final conclusion yet. Why are you
so quick to take the blame?"
She flashed Mia a warm smile and continued, "You're friends with Angela, and friends help each other. They
wouldn't wish harm upon one another. Besides, you don't look like the kind who would go out of her way to hurt
someone else."
Natalie's words made everyone's expressions shift subtly.
Mia was especially stunned; she almost couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had never imagined that
someone other than Zayn and Angela would treat her with such kindness.
"Thank you, Mrs. Bamford Senior," she murmured, her voice choked with emotion, and her eyes reddening.
Just then, Dexter's phone rang. It was Rocky calling.
His expression turned cold after he answered the call. He announced, "They've found the culprit."
"What? That fast? We haven't even gotten any leads yet. Who is it?" Zayn asked excitedly.
Dexter replied calmly, "Stay put. Rocky will be here soon."
Less than half an hour later, Rocky arrived with both the evidence and the answer.
Dexter gave Rocky a look, and he immediately took out his phone. He tapped the screen to pull up a video. Then,
he handed his phone to Elena. He didn't let anyone else see it. This was his way of letting the culprit hold on to
one last shred of dignity.
When Elena saw Rocky approaching, she seemed to be puzzled. But the moment
she watched the video, a surge of anger rose within her.
The person in the footage was none other than the equestrian club staff she had bribed. The video showed the
woman casually approaching Charcoal. After glancing around to make sure no one was watching, she pulled
something from her pocket and pressed it onto the
saddle before walking away.
Rocky explained evenly, "She fixed four needles onto the saddle. As Ms. Graham rode, the needles
continuously pricked into the horse's back, Causing unbearable pain for it. That was why it gradually became

"This video has been enhanced for clarity, so the person's face is clearly visible. We've already apprehended her,
and she has confessed everything."
Elena's face turned an unnatural shade of green. She stared at the figure on the phone screen in disbelief, barely
able to suppress her fury.
How unbelievably foolish of that staff member!
Hadn't she told that woman to disable the cameras in advance or clean up the footage afterward? How could she
have messed up something so simple?
