Chapter 279:
Ever since the incident at the cemetery, RK and Aden’s relationship had noticeably improved. They no longer
gave each other the cold shoulder, and they even argued occasionally. Despite this, their interactions were filled
with a sense of camaraderie, making their lives more interesting.
“What's going on? Did Ruby cto bother you again?” Aden asked, taking a sip of his drink.
RK scoffed. “Ruby? She's all talk. After all these years, what else can she do except spit out sarcastic remarks
and get ignored by me?” He shrugged, showing how little he cared for her.
“Hahaha, RK, you're ruthless! | mean, Ruby can be a bit of a viper, but I'll admit, even she’s no match for your
cold-heartedness,” Aden chuckled. “Con, you didn’t just draghere for drinks. If something's up, spill it.
Don’t act all mysterious.”
RK frowned, swirling his drink slowly. “It’s nothing serious, just... recently, I've been remembering things |
thought I'd forgotten. It's strange, like certain memories have resurfaced all of a sudden. Why do you think that
happens?”

Aden raised an eyebrow. “This is about Stella, isn’t it? Are you realizing you still have feelings for her? Con,
tell me, | want to hear all about it,” he teased, clearly eager for gossip.
“It does have something to do with Stella,” RK admitted. “But it’s just odd. After all these years, why am |
thinking about it now?”
Aden leaned in. “What's the big deal? If something's bothering you, think about it and let it go. No need to
overthink.”
“That's the thing. It's not a big deal, but | can’t stop thinking about it. | can’t calm down. That's why | called you
out here tonight.” RK’s frustration was evident as he stared into his glass.
That night, RK was different from the person Aden was used to seeing. Maybe it was the alcohol or maybe
something else had triggered him, but he rambled on like an old man, never quite getting to the point, much to
Aden’s frustration.
“Man, just tellwhat's going on! What are you thinking about? What trivial matter has got you this worked
up?” Aden was practically begging for clarity, feeling like he was on the verge of losing his patience.
RK sighed deeply before finally confessing, “Tonight... | kissed Stella. And then...”

“And then what? Did she slap you? Did Adrian jump in and hit you? Or did you hit yourself?” Aden leaned in,
eager for the punchline. “Con, RK, don’t leavehanging. Speak up!”
But RK, having reached the peak of his emotional exhaustion, had fallen asleep right at the critical moment.
Aden stared at him in disbelief, feeling utterly exasperated.
“Unbelievable,” Aden muttered. “He falls asleep just when it's getting interesting.”
It seemed RK had finally cto terms with his feelings for Stella. Aden found it amusing. RK, the top student in
school, the guy who was always right, was finally realizing he wasn’t invincible.
Back in their high school days, RK had always been arrogant, effortlessly dominating everything from academics
to sports. He had been the star player on the basketball team, with a whole crowd of girls skipping class just to
watch him play. RK’s flawless dunks and smooth moves had earned him admiration, but also a fair amount of

Aden still remembered one particular basketball gwhere RK’s performance had humiliated the opposing
team. After the game, the other players had wanted to challenge RK to a one-on-one match, but RK had
dismissed them coldly, saying, “I don’t fight with idiots; it would makelook like one too.”
That comment had earned him years of animosity, and those splayers still carried a grudge whenever they
saw RK at class reunions.
RK had always been arrogant and untouchable, never facing real defeat. Aden felt a strange sense of satisfaction
imagining Stella giving RK a taste of his own medicine this taround.
After much effort, Aden finally managed to drag RK hand settle him into bed. Feeling mischievous, Aden
grabbed RK'’s phone and typed out a message to Stella.
“Stella, to be honest, | haven't forgotten you all these years. There's a reason for what happened back then.
When the tis right, I'll explain everything.”
Aden grinned, feeling pleased with himself. He thought he had done a great thing without knowing just how right
he was.
