Chapter 255:
Stella thought, “That's the only way!”
To be honest, there wasn’t anything particularly bad about staying in the RK mansion, but being watched by that
man every day made her feel uncomfortable.
“By the way,” Kelly said, interrupting Stella's thoughts, “I just remembered something. Have you paid your
tuition fees yet? | haven't paid mine for this semester. Let's go to the college in a couple of days to take care of
that!”
She then looked at Stella with concern and added, “Have you saved up enough for the tuition? If you're short, |
can lend you smoney.”
Kelly knew all about Stella's situation, especially her difficult family background. She had always helped Stella
when she could. Despite growing up in the Richard family, Stella's life had been more ordinary than most, and
her situation was far from privileged.
In an ordinary family, parents usually help their children with tuition, but for Stella...

Her mother wasn’t in a position to help, and her father, David, had told Stella when she turned sixteen that she
needed to start earning her own money. From that point on, he had stopped contributing to any of her living
expenses or tuition fees.
Sophia, on the other hand, always had David's support. Even though she was working now, David still gave her
pocket money. Sometimes, Stella wondered if she was really David's biological daughter. How else could there be
such a big difference in how he treated her and Sophia?
When Tristan was still around, things were different. He had helped pay for Stella's tuition ever since she was in
high school. But ever since she married into the Kingston family, Tristan had disappeared from her life entirely.
Stella smiled faintly and nodded, “I've saved enough.”
In reality, she had scraped together her savings. During the summer, she hadn't been able to work, so she
stayed at the RK mansion the entire time, using her savings to cover her tuition. She had just enough for this
year, but after that, she wasn’t sure how she’d manage.
“Ill need to find a job once college starts,” Stella said. “I have to save up for next year’s tuition.”
Kelly’s heart ached for her friend. She reached across the table and gently placed her hand on Stella's. “Stella,
it’s okay. If you ever need more money, | can lend it to you, or | can ask my parents. You don’t have to stress
yourself out.”

Stella smiled and shook her head. “No, it’s fine. I'm almost twenty now, and it's normal forto work and take
care of myself. But thank you. If | really can’t make it, I'll ask you for help.”
Stella wasn’t the type of person to accept help easily. She always felt guilty about taking from others and
preferred to stand on her own feet.
Kelly nodded understandingly. “Okay.”
After chatting for a while longer at the café, the two friends parted ways. Mrs. Cassidy and the driver were
waiting outside for Stella, just as they had been earlier.
Back at the RK mansion, Stella expected everything to be the sas usual. But to her surprise, RK was home.
As soon as Stella stepped into the house, she saw him sitting on the sofa, reading a newspaper. He sat with his
usual straight posture, looking composed and distant.
Stella checked her phone. It was only four o’clock in the afternoon.
RK usually never left work this early. Why was he htoday? He was always so focused on work, often staying

“Why are you here?” Stella asked awkwardly as she walked over.
Every tRK was home, the atmosphere in the house seemed to change. It was as if the air itself became
heavier, making it harder for her to breathe.
Whenever she was around him, she felt inexplicably nervous and cautious.
“I cback to see you,” RK replied, placing the newspaper on the coffee table. He turned his gaze to Stella,
who was standing awkwardly behind him, and continued, “I've already taken care of your tuition fees. Starting
next month, the driver will pick you up from college every day. You don’t need to stay there anymore.”
Stella was speechless.
She felt like she'd just been struck by lightning.
She didn’t need to stay at college anymore?
Just earlier, while she and Kelly were enjoying their afternoon tea, they had enthusiastically made plans to live
together at the college dorm and have fun every day. Now this man was making decisions for her without even
asking!
And the tuition fees? When had she asked him to take care of that? Why was he suddenly getting involved?
