"But... I'm hurt. Mr. Farrell, I think my elbow might be broken. Could you taketo the hospital, considering I chere to help you?" Tina's smirk deepened.
"Help us? Do you mean help us by speeding up Mr. and Mrs. Dyer's deaths?" Kelly's face flushed as her expression flickered. She opened her mouth to explain, but Tina cut her off.
"I'd like to know how you even got into the police station, let alone managed to take the elderly couple out so easily," Tina said, her voice sharp and unwavering. Frank Gill's face had grown increasingly suspicious. He hesitated for a moment, but out of respect for Luke Gill, he stepped forward and helped Kelly to her feet. "What's going on here? As far as I know, our station doesn't take orders from the Bailey family!" The junior officer, now on the verge of tears, stammered, "I-I didn't have a choice, Captain! The air conditioning in the interrogation room broke, and when I left, I forgot to close the door. By the tI returned, they were already like this." He rubbed his hands nervously, his voice filled with excuses.
"I couldn't just stand by and let them die in there! And... and this woman was brought in by the deputy captain. She saw I was overwhelmed and offered to help." By the end, the young officer's head hung low.
"Captain, I swear I didn't use excessive force on them. I know the rules-I would never do something like that!" "Captain Gill, what he's saying is true," Kelly chimed in, biting her lip. She glanced at Tina with a hurt expression. "I understand Miss Reed is cautious, but it's unfair to accuseof wrongdoing. I just happened to pass by and saw the elderly couple wasn't doing well, so I stepped in to help." She turned to Elsa, her tone soft and apologetic.
"Elsa, I'm sorry. I didn't cause this, but since it's my sister's fault, I'll apologize on her behalf. She didn't have a choice." Kelly stole a glance at Jared, who still hadn't looked at her once.
Her teeth clenched as her frustration grew. Determined, she continued.

"What did you say? Ella Bailey targeted Elsa to save who?" A flicker of triumph flashed in Kelly's lowered gaze. She glanced at Tina with a hint of provocation before replying.
"Her mother. I heard... that woman might have sconnection to you, Mr. Farrell. I think she's your aunt..." "Shut up!" Jared's voice was thunderous, his sharp tone cutting through the room like a blade.
"You're not worthy of mentioning my aunt." Years ago, it was Victor and that woman who had conspired to deceive his aunt. If not for them, things wouldn't have turned out the way they had.
Jared's eyes, dark as ink, were filled with unrelenting hatred. His gaze at Kelly was as cold and lifeless as death itself.
Kelly had never encountered such a terrifying look.
Even when Victor was angry, his fury was mild compared to the suffocating pressure Jared exuded.
It felt as though, if she said another word, Jared would end her life right there.
Her body trembled uncontrollably as she shrank back, seeking refuge behind Frank Gill.
Frank frowned and gently pushed her away, his gaze instinctively turning to Elsa.
Elsa froze when she heard that Ella Bailey's mother was Jared's aunt. The hatred in her eyes dissipated, replaced by hesitation.
She thought of everything Tina and Jared had done for her family recently, and a conflicted expression surfaced on her face.
Kelly noticed the shift immediately. This was exactly what she had hoped for.
It didn't matter who currently had the formula. Once they realized it could save Vanessa Farrell, they wouldn't just sit back and do nothing. And when that happened, Kelly would get what she wanted.
Her eyes, hidden behind Frank's back, gleamed with malice before quickly returning to a timid, innocent expression.
She peeked out from behind Frank, her face filled with feigned nervousness.
Tina, however, didn't even spare her another glance. She looped her arm through Jared's and turned to Elsa.

"Captain Gill, I'm taking Joseph Dyers it withtoday. Let the deputy captain know that picking the wrong side can have deadly consequences." "What do you mean by that?" Frank asked, his brow furrowed.
Tina didn't bother explaining. She waved for Jared to carry Mr. Dyers on his back.
"Exactly what I said," she replied casually.
Without wasting another word, Tina hoisted Mrs. Dyers onto her back and motioned for Elsa to follow.
The three of them were just about to leave the station's lobby when a tall figure appeared in the doorway,m walking toward them against the harsh glare of the station's bright lights. Kelly, still trailing after Jared, turned at the sound of footsteps. She immediately recognized the newcomer. It was her sister's husband, Luke Gill-the man who had once been the Dyer family's son-in-law.
Her lips curled into a sly smile.
This would be entertaining.
Her dark eyes gleamed with malicious intent as she called out loudly, "Luke! What are you doing here so late at night?"
The station's floodlights were too blinding for Luke to make out who was standing at the entrance. But Kelly's voice sent a shiver down his spine. Suppressing his irritation, he finally located her in the crowd.
"Dad was worried about you being out so late, so he sentto pick you up," Luke replied stiffly.
