“Gulp—”
Aurora swallowed her saliva as she stared into the hall in wonder. The scene before her far exceeded whatever expectations she once had, and almost every corner of the room was filled with gold and silver treasures. From each corner of the vast hall to the next, endless amounts of gold coins, gems, and colorful precious metals could be seen.
Ancient vessels, swords embedded with pearls and agate, shields made of gold and jewels, and other ornate weapons were scattered haphazardly on top of the sea of gold.
It was so much so that there was little room for movement within the hall. Dragon City’s officials stood in a large clearing within the treasures. Among them were elves, humans, beastmen, and even dwarves. Most of them were humans.
As Aurora appeared their eyes turned to her. Some looked at her with scrutiny, some were expressionless, and others smiled.
Aurora did not care about the eyes of the people. No matter what was said, she was still the princess of the Subila Kingdom and the Holy Maiden of the Dragon God Church. She had seen many things and was not afraid of being at the center of attention.
She knew that this group of people formed the heart of the Dragon City, no, the Dragon Kingdom. They were the nobles and officials; some held real power while others relied on their titles. It was this group of people who served as the core of operations of this vast kingdom in the south.
‘It’s a good thing that I didn’t let Agnes in. If she saw this much treasure, who knows how crazy she would become’ she thought.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe took a deep breath and gathered her courage as she raised her head towards the figure on the throne at the top of this golden mountain.
Atop this mountain made entirely of riches and wealth was a giant throne. The throne was also made from the world’s most valuable metal such that any onlooker would immediately recognize the ostentation. Aurora had no doubt that the throne was worth a lot of money. Putting aside its political utility, just the precious stones inlaid on it likely were of astronomical value.
The most bizarre thing was the backrest of the throne. The whole throne was made of the most valuable things, but the backrest alone was made of the simplest iron. It was as if this was a reminder to the owner of the throne to never be blinded by wealth and power.
Although the throne was valuable, it was an inanimate object at the end of the day. The true thing that made people submit was the person on that throne.
Then Aurora locked eyes with the pair of pale silver majestic eyes.
With a loud bang, an explosion occurred in Aurora’s mind. A demigod’s terrifying might pressed down on her, crushing her power and threatening to break her dignity. Just as the demigod was about to make her fall to her knees, the bloodline belonging to the Dragon God stirred inside her. The power of the bloodline was very powerful. Even if it could not withstand the demigod's might, it still protected Aurora from tarnishing her image.
“Aurora Abel Subila, you are indeed a child of Father God, a sister of mine! A sister of Alexia!”
A light and pleasant yet childish but majestic voice echoed.
Aurora knew that Alexia was just using this way to test her bloodline. Now that she had proven that she was Louie’s child and her sister, Alexia took the initiative to withdraw her power and speak to her.
At this moment, Aurora only felt that the queen was really arrogant, but this arrogance was not unfounded.
Alexia was the child of the Silver Moon Goddess and the Dragon God - a true child of gods. She completely inherited the pride of the elves and dragons as well as a demigod. She was also the queen of the Dragon Kingdom located to the south of the main continent. Any one of her identities alone was enough to support her arrogance, let alone their composite.
Now, the pressure on Alexia’s body gradually dissipated. She exhaled and found that her forehead was drenched in cold sweat. For a moment, she did not know how she should treat this half-sister of hers, and could only speak formally, “Dragon God Church’s Aurora Abel Subila greets Her Majesty!”
Compared to her identity as the princess of the Subila Kingdom, her identity as the Holy Maiden of the Dragon God was naturally more useful here. She bent down deeply and greeted her respectfully yet completely void of affection and cheerfulness of seeing her sister.
“Hmm.”
Aurora only nodded slightly in response.
It was only then that Aurora raised her head to see Alexia’s true appearance.
It was the same as the rumors. Because she was born a demigod and the blood of dragons, Alexia's appearance was very young, and looked to only be eleven to twelve years old. Although her appearance was young and tender, the palpitating majesty from her was real.
She wore an elven-style dress and a long skirt with branches and flowers embellished in it. Although the clothes seemed to be made of light muslin, they seemed to be shrouded in mist that prevented people from seeing her body clearly. Only her calf exposed below the skirt hinted at her beauty.

Her beautiful silver hair draped over her back and her beautiful eyes gazed at Aurora. The two sisters just stared at each other, silencing the hall for a time.
After an uncomfortably long silence Alexia spoke, “Since you have already met the princess from the Subila Kingdom, you can all go about your business. At night, we shall have a banquet to entertain our guests.”
The nobles and officials in the hall looked at each other. They seemed confused as to why Alexia invited them only to drive them away the next moment. Nonetheless, in the face of the queen’s direct orders, the officials and nobles knelt down to pay their respects and left the hall one by one.
Soon, only Aurora and Alexia were left in this huge palace.
Aurora was once again nervous, not knowing the meaning behind her sister having her stay here alone with her.
Alexia saw Aurora’s apprehension and smiled gently. Her voice was as clear as the moonlight, “No need to panic. The reason why I let the others leave is because they are not qualified to meet the god we believe in.
“Come with me, Aurora! The person you want to see most is waiting for you here.”
After her words, Alexia stood up from her throne and walked toward the back of the hall.
Aurora was stunned. She wondered if she heard wrong. The person she wanted to see… wouldn’t that be…
Many emotions flashed through her mind. There was excitement, longing, complexity, and desire. There were many things she wanted to say as well but she worried if she should say them. Her heart was in complete chaos, a mixture of flavors as she followed Alexia toward the back of the hall.
