Chapter 352 The Demon Emperor Takes Action

Mabel agreed that Jeff's reasoning made sense, and the group set off soon after.

The arrangement was for a private plane to take Mabel to Mount Goliath before flying to Yaleview with Jeff and

Adonis. From there, the duo would proceed to Mapleton after settling some necessary paperwork.

The plane arrived at Mount Goliath at half past three in the morning. Everything was bathed in a silver glow. A

breeze blew gently, and the moon hung bright in the sky.

After landing at the top of Mount Goliath, the plane stopped there for a little while before refueling and flying

toward Yaleview.

Soon, Mabel was the only person left at the top of Mount Goliath.

Mount Goliath was one of the five great mountains and the most famous. Its peak boasted magnificent views of its

steep and spectacular cliffs, and many tourists would camp out there to watch the sunrise.

When one was atop the mountain, there was almost the sense that one was on a mystical mountain teeming with

demons and spirits. Being on the peak also made one feel as though they were at the closest spot to heaven. In

short, it was a place that brought to mind images of warriors wielding swords, myths, and other such fantastical

things. Even fantasy ists would find it a steady source of inspiration if they were there.

Naturally, Mabel was uninterested in the scenery. Her purpose there was to look for the Demon Emperor.

She had no clue where to start her search, but she soon struck upon an idea and headed straight for Emerald

Emperor Peak. It was where the great emperors of yore were worshipped, and not many people would go up there

at such an hour.

Since she had arrived on a private plane, she did not need to purchase entrance tickets.

Nothing much had changed on Mount Goliath. The only difference was that it had become a tourist attraction and

was no longer shrouded in legends and mystery as it had been in the past.

The stars twinkled brightly in the sky, the edge of the cliffs lay ahead, and a sea of clouds hung midair. It was

practically paradise on earth!

Everything was silent and still. She called out into the empty space, “Demon Emperor, I'm Mabel Sandler, and I

have a favor to ask you. Could you please show yourself?”

She did that three times, and her voice reverberated through the air for a long time.

Her actions made her seem somewhat deranged. It was the middle of the night, yet she was shouting to meet the

Demon Emperor as though she were in a movie or something.

Mabel herself also started feeling a little skeptical about whether it would work and even questioned whether he

truly existed. If not because I've witnessed too many strange and mysterious occurrences, I would have been

riddled with doubts. However, that won't happen now. I'm firm in my belief that there are many magical people and

events in this world. After all, a human's outlook is always limited.

The silence went on for five minutes. Guessing that the Demon Emperor was not there, she was about to go

somewhere else and try to find him when something strange happened. The air in front of her began to shift, and in

the blink of an eye, it started rippling like the surface of a lake. Then she noticed the ripples condense until they

gradually formed the shape of a human.

Mabel immediately realized that it signaled the Demon Emperor's appearance. His primordial spirit had traveled to

where she was and transformed into a human form through condensation of air, molecules, and the magnetic field.

Soon, she could see the man before her clearly. He wore a black shirt and was handsome.

If Jonathan were there, he would be utterly stunned as the man looked exactly like Lance, the Emperor of Chanaea.

However, his gaze was different. His eyes were cold with an icy glint.

When Mabel saw him, she immediately bowed respectfully. “Greetings, Demon Emperor!”

Indeed, the man was Tristan, the Demon Emperor. He gazed at her indifferently and said, “Not many people in the

world know that I'm on Mount Goliath, yet you, an ordinary woman, know my whereabouts and real name. It

appears there's more to you than meets the eye. Tell me, who are you?”

“I'm the chief of the sixth division of the Department of National Security.”

“The Department of National Security?” Tristan was taken aback. “I've never had much to do with your department

or country. Why have you come looking for me?”

“Demon Emperor, have you heard of Wretched the Great?” Mabel asked.

Tristan replied placidly, “No, I haven't. Why?”

Mabel was surprised by his reply. “Well, here's the thing. Wretched the Great is said to be a natural-born mutant

whose cells go through infinite evolution. It has existed on this earth for one thousand years already. Now, it's...”

She patiently explained everything, including Wretched's murderous intentions and what was about to happen to

Mapleton.

Even after listening to all that, Tristan was calm. He looked at her strangely and asked, “Have you come looking for

me to ask me to get rid of it?”

“If there were anyone on this earth who could stop him, it'd be you,” Mabel replied.

Tristan burst out laughing. Then his gaze turned cold again. “You've come to the wrong person. You should look for

Lance instead. He's the nosy one.”

Mabel groaned inwardly. I know the Emperor of Chanaea has a noble heart, but I can't find any information about

his whereabouts! As for the Divine Emperor, he never takes any notice of the affairs of the world.

Tristan was incredibly perceptive and said without hesitation, “What's the matter? Can't you find Lance?”

Not daring to lie, Mabel nodded. “You're right.”

“You sure are honest,” Tristan remarked, momentarily surprised by her answer. “Seeing how honest you are, I

shan't trouble you. You may leave. Remember, don't tell anyone about my whereabouts. I don't want others coming

here and disturbing me.”

Mabel could tell that he would not stand having his decision questioned. With his character, no one could change his

mind once he had decided something.

She sighed and said, “I'll take my leave now.”

With that, she turned to go.

“Wait!” Tristan called out suddenly.

Mabel turned around again and looked at him in confusion.

After pondering for a moment, Tristan said, “Very well. Wretched the Great is in Mapleton, right?”

Mabel nodded in response.

“Let's go there now,” Tristan said.

“So, you're agreeing to stop Wretched the Great?” Mabel could not help rejoicing.

“Not to stop him, but to kill him,” Tristan responded coldly.

“He doesn't deserve to die yet. Besides, there are some connections between us, so I hope you can show him some

mercy,” Mabel quickly replied, shocked by his response.

Tristan gave a mirthless chuckle. “You're mistaken. Heaven's will dictates that he's to die. I'm merely obeying

heaven's will.”

Mabel was utterly bewildered. “Why do you say that?”

“Slowly mull over it on your own,” Tristan responded, unwilling to elaborate.

Mabel felt conflicted. I don't want to see Wretched the Great unleash bloodshed in Mapleton because that'd be a

great loss to the world, but neither do I wish to see him die! To me, those like the Demon Emperor are invincible.

Even Wretched the Great is no match for him. Alas, there's only so much I can do. Regardless of whether it's the

Demon Emperor or Wretched the Great, I can't control either.

“When do you plan to attack, Demon Emperor?” When Mabel heard him answer that he wanted to act immediately,

she could not help feeling worried. “I'm afraid you'll have to wait a while. I need to arrange for someone to fly a

private plane here. On top of that, we need to go through certain procedures before we can enter Thymion.”

“There's no need for so much trouble,” Tristan responded impatiently. Then, he pointed a finger toward the front,

and a purple floral throne suddenly appeared.

The flower throne had eight petals and glowed with a purple light. It was large enough for one person, and Tristan

turned to her and said, “Climb on and sit there.”

Mabel froze, a peculiar sense of excitement in her heart. She could guess what was about to happen next. At the

same time, it felt too unbelievable to be true. Nonetheless, she still went to sit on it.

The eight petals started rotating as soon as she sat down, and she felt a wave of energy surge within the purple

floral throne. Then a protective shield enveloped the entire throne. To be precise, it was a purple glow.

“Let's go!” Suddenly, Tristan transformed into a ray of light and shot through the sky. The purple floral throne

followed him, moving as quickly as lightning.

Mabel was truly experiencing what it felt like to ride in the clouds. The sea of clouds rolled past as she zipped

through the air as swiftly as the wind. It was moving at an even faster speed than a plane, and she did not feel any

headwind or resistance.

Although everything around her appeared to be a blur, she could clearly see the bright streak of light that was

Tristan. She could not help feeling awestruck. He truly is incredible! I didn't expect men to be so powerful. He

possesses remarkable abilities and is omnipotent. Isn't this even more amazing than what's shown on television

shows? In the past, I would've never imagined that such things could happen. I'd think they were too fanciful!

Over in the village to the north of Mapleton, the sky was still pitch-black. It suddenly started raining in the middle of

the night. The rain poured down in torrents, but it soon passed, leaving the ground wet and muddy.

Inside the temple, Jonathan was standing in front of Wretched.

Vananeru had been taken aside to rest. She had been through a lot the past few days. Everything that had

happened had been too much for her, and she could not bear it anymore.

Wretched had dismissed all of his ghost messengers, leaving him alone in the temple with Jonathan.

“What's with these ghost messengers? Where did they come from? What are their cultivation levels?” Jonathan

asked curiously.

Wretched replied, “I selected them from among the ghosts, then filled them with phantasmic energy to make them

grow stronger at a rapid pace. As for their cultivation levels, they're not highly skilled, but they're probably more

than capable of killing you.”

Jonathan smiled wryly. I've always thought of myself as undefeatable. In front of Wretched the Great, however, my

abilities are as impressive as a child's.

Struck with a sudden thought, Jonathan asked, “Do you know how to do spells?”

“A little, but I'm not very good at it. If I didn't know how to do spells, I wouldn't have been able to reincarnate.

Reincarnation is a branch of deep knowledge, and few can unravel the mystery of oblivion in humans,” said

Wretched.
