The next evening, | had just finished my shower and was planning to read for a bit before going to sleep.
But then my phone started ringing.
| answered, and | heard Edward's deep voice on the line. “I'm downstairs. Con down.”
I rushed to the window, and sure enough, there was a car parked by the curb, headlights glowing in the dark.
“You said you'd be gone for a few days. How cyou're back already?” | asked, surprised.
Edward said, “I took care of everything with Nuan Nuan, so | cstraight back.”
| glanced at Elaine’s room-she was already asleep-so | crept out quietly and headed downstairs.
The car door opened, and | slipped inside. Right away, | was pulled into a warm hug.
I'd dashed out so quickly, I totally forgot my jacket. Sitting there in just a light shirt, | really needed that warmth.
“You smell so good. What is that?” Edward leaned in close, his nose brushing against my neck. “Smells like
jasmine.”
“Yeah, | did use jasmine body lotion tonight. The scent is so soft and pleasant,’ | thought to myself.
“It’s so late. You should head hand get srest,” | said softly.
“You're not coming with me?” Edward's disappointment was obvious. “I just got off the plane and cstraight
here to see you.”
| froze for a second, a bit caught off guard, then said, “Alright, letjust run upstairs and grab a jacket...”
“No need. I've got plenty of jackets at my place,” Edward replied, keeping his arms wrapped tightly around me
as he told the driver to go.

We arrived at his villa, and the place was wrapped in quiet darkness. The lights were low, the maids had all gone
to bed, and the butler cover to greet us before slipping away.

bathroom.

When Edward stepped out of the bathroom, he was wearing nothing but a towel, his short hair still dripping wet.
His body was in great shape, radiating that raw, masculine appeal only a grown man could have.
| looked up at him, my hand frozen on the magazine, forgetting to flip the page.
Edward sawstaring at the magazine and cover in a few quick strides, grabbed it from me, and tossed it
far away. “Stop looking at that.”
| glanced at him, then at the magazine lying across the room. Edward’s mood suddenly seemed to change, and |
couldn’t help but notice.
“What's wrong?” | asked with a smile.
