Chapter 306: Chapter 305: "Don’t touch me.
The man’s appearance blocked the cold wind blowing on her.
Daisy Ginger slowly lifted her head, her pale face gazing upon him.
She looked at him and then slowly lowered her head again, as if she didn’t care who he was at all.
The man slowly raised his hand, but before his fingers could touch her thin back, Daisy coldly snapped, "Don’t
touch me."
His fingertips paused for a moment, then he slightly bent over and straightened up, lifting her horizontally from
the bench.
The sensation of weightlessness made Daisy instinctively hold the urn tighter in her arms. The man remained
expressionless, silently carrying her out of the funeral home.
Daisy was silently placed into the car.
She curled up, leaning against the car door, clutching the urn, ignoring the man in the driver's seat beside her.
The air carried a familiar scent, belonging to the pheromones of this man.
Daisy slowly closed her eyes; though she didn’t want to admit it, over the past year, his scent indeed brought
her much comfort.
Her body gradually softened as she rested her face against the lacquered surface of the urn and fell asleep.

When she awoke, she found herself sleeping in the man’s arms.
She realized Edward Stephens had brought her home.
The curtains were drawn, and the bedroom was very quiet. The man’s warm breath brushed against the
sensitive side of her neck, making her slightly uneasy and she struggled a bit. The man, whose eyes had been
closed, suddenly opened them and looked over.
She had startled him awake.
Daisy met his eyes, peering into his emotionless dark eyes, and said with a dry, hoarse voice, "Letgo."
The man’s deep eyes blinked slowly, and just as Daisy thought he wouldn't listen, she felt the pressure on her
body lighten as Edward released his hold.
She was slightly stunned as she watched Edward get off the bed, moving around the dim room, listening to his
footsteps, followed by the sound of water being poured.
With a "click", the bedside lamp was turned on.
A cup of warm water was handed to her.
Daisy stared at the water, initially unmoving, and only after a while did she slowly extend her pale, slender hand
to grasp the cup.
She sat up, leaning against the headboard, lowering her head to drink half the cup of water, finally soothing her
uncomfortable throat.
The room fell silent, neither she nor the man spoke again, but she could feel Edward’s gaze on her, unusually
deep and focused.
Daisy did not look at him.
Until there was a gentle knock on the door, and Charlotte Smith's voice cfrom outside.
"Young Master, lunch is ready."
Daisy heard Edward's footsteps as he walked to the door, opened it, and said something in a low voice to
Charlotte before closing it again.
The man cto the bedside and finally spoke, "Get up for dinner."
"The urn is downstairs," Edward said, "Won't you go get it?"
