Chapter 841
Elsie stared intently at the man's defiantly handsface, her heart racing so fast she thought she might have
misheard him.
For twenty-five years, she had been nothing more than Avery's appendage, a tool to be summoned and
dismissed at will.
She had always been empty-handed. But here and now, Elvis claimed unbashfully that he was her man. He was
hers.
The foreign thug cursed loudly, just as he bent to snatch the gun from the floor, Elvis shot him twice, hitting his
left shoulder and right leg. The man screamed and collapsed.
Elsie immediately rushed forward, grabbed the gun, and aimed it steadily at the
man.
"Don't! Don't kill me!" The foreigner pleaded, proving that everyone was a lot more vulnerable without their
clothes.
"Speak! What exactly is the batch Avery gave you? Medicine or drugs?"
Elsie's usual tenderness was replaced by a fierce and bloodthirsty look, like a beast that had been lying in wait
for years, "What dirty tricks are you pulling stealthily? Out with it!"

Elvis watched her transformation, his eyebrows slightly raised, his gaze deepening.
With his status, he could have matched with heiresses, politicians’ daughters, even princesses of royal blood. But
he wasn't interested.
He had no interest in noble pedigrees, and even his approach to love was casual. He loved the unbounded, the
taboo, the thrill.
Initially, Elsie provided him with the adrenaline rush of their tug-of-war. Gradually however, he becaddicted
to this sensation, developing an intense desire, a desire to see her again and again.
And now, this feeling had intensified. He used to watch her flit among other men with her graceful form and
melodious lilt without any problems. But not anymore
now.
So, tonight, he came. Despite the surrounding dangers and troubles, he cfor her.
"He said it's medicine! An illegal medicine imported from abroad!"
Elvis' voice was low, "Imported from where?"
The foreigner stammered, "I-| don't know. | really don't know!"
Elsie glared at him, the gun pressing hard against his forehead, "You won't spill until you die, will you?"
"| really don't know! How could Mr. Chambers tell us distributors where he gets it? He makes all the big money,
and we just get scraps! But one time, we were at the Velvet Haven, and he took a call in the room. | was drunk,
didn't catch much what he said, but | vaguely heard something about medicine, sexperiment."
"Experiment?" Elsie and Elvis both frowned.
"About the rest, | really don't know. | swear!"
"Medicine, experiment?"
Elvis thought back to the frightening man he had seen crawling on a car hood while taking Evadne to the
hospital, and a cold laugh escaped him, "It seems Avery's business isn't as straightforward as it appears. The
drugs are just a facade."
Elsie, sharp as ever, quickly pieced together the clues she and Tom had gathered. Avery's entire sinister plot was
gradually taking shape in her mind!
Just then, the sound of chaotic footsteps cfrom the corridor outside. It was probably the henchmen, drawn
by the gunfire!
The foreigner's eyes darted around, and he suddenly shouted, "Help! Someone's broken in! Help!"
Elvis remained composed, a dark storm brewing in his eyes.
He was about to fire when Elsie beat him to it, shooting the foreigner straight through the forehead. No
hesitation, no second thoughts!
The man's mouth gaped open, his face contorted in agony as he fell backward, dead.

Elvis looked deeply at Elsie, her chest heaving uncontrollably.
"He won't be spilling any more useful info, and his life was not worth sparing.”
Elsie, whether from the shock of her first kill or the side effects of the drug, had fair-skinned hands trembling
violently, her voice quivering, "If word gets back to Avery, the consequences will be severe."
"Indeed, Avery wouldn't spare you either," Elvis' voice was a low rumble.
Elsie took a deep breath, shaking her head, "I'm not afraid of dying. I'm afraid that
if the news's leaked, and Avery finds out someone knows about his darker dealings, he'll destroy all evidence
and clear his name. We've just caught his tail; we can't afford to alert him."
Elvis' gaze was piercing as he stepped closer to her. Elsie, in panic, pushed against his chest, "Go, you need to
go! I'll handle this, just go!"
"We'll leave together," Elvis' voice intense, he was fearless.
Elsie looked down, her hand pressed against his chest now held tightly by him, "If
| leave, my life would be worthless. | want to live a life of value. Elvis, you wouldn't understand."
He wouldn't understand? How could he not? He was the one who understood her the most in this world.
Elvis' gaze intensified, his lips parting to speak. Suddenly, the room door was slammed open, and two henchmen
burst in!
Simultaneously, as if connected by a sixth sense, Elvis and Elsie turned towards the door, raising their guns.
