Chapter 839
At midnight, outside a suburban mansion.
In the sports car, Elsie slipped into a fiery red evening gown with a daring thigh- high slit, her hair pinned up
elegantly, adorned with a pure gold hairpin - a touch of classical beauty that Avery would appreciate.
Yet beneath the surface, sordid deeds lurked.
Elsie's cold fingertips brushed the hem of her gown, and she let out a bitter chuckle.
Such a waste of high-quality silk, smooth as water, all to be ruined by the hands of brutes, including her dignity.
As Elsie prepared to step out of the car, her phone buzzed with a video call. It was Tom.
For video calls couldn't be monitored, they were their preferred mode of secure communication in private.
"Tom," Elsie forced a smile as she faced the screen.
"Ms. Archer, are you going to..." Tom's voice faltered as he saw her dressed to kill. As one of the Velvet Haven's
men, he knew too well what it entailed each tMs. Archer decked herself out like that.
"What's up? Is everything okay on your end?" Elsie quickly changed the subject.
"I'm fine. Ms. Archer, the two men you're meeting tonight are not ordinary." Tom's face darkened, "My

Getting close to them could lead to more clues about those deals. If we manage to snag that stuff, our chances
of taking Avery down increase!"
As Elsie heard this, her previous dejected spirits lifted, her eyes now gleaming with a resolute determination to
extinguish vileness.
"I'll do my best to extract valuable intel. Thanks for the heads up, Tom."
"Ms. Archer, please be careful!"
Tom looked deeply concerned, feeling uneasy, "This time, Avery asked you to meet these clients alone to that
godforsaken place without Harvey. His unusual behavior makesfeel something's amiss."
"It'll be alright."
Elsie's gaze was calm and unfathomable, like still waters, "Avery hasn't disposed ofyet because I'm still
useful to him. | know him too well. He wouldn't discard anyone or anything until he's extracted every last drop of
value. If necessary, he'll intervene to protect me."
Alongside Elsie, four other girls from the Velvet Haven were present in the luxurious room. Armed guards stood
in shadowy corners while the girls were left with no choice but to entertain two corpulent foreigners.
Elsie sat on the edge of the sofa, her eyes bloodshot as she watched the depraved, sleazy scene unfold, fury
burning within her.
Yet, she was powerless to stop it. Interrupting Mr. Chambers’ "grand plans" would mean an even worse fate for
the girls.
Clinging to the girls, the foreigners chatted unabashedly in their native tongue, "Mr. Chambers really outdid
himself with this batch! He said we could sell these goods freely back hwithout fear of the police!"
"Oh? Why's that?"
Elsie strained her eyes, listening intently to their conversation. These two bastards, they'd never expect that
there was someone who could understand perfectly the language of Country T among those five women!
"Cuz he said that they're like an illicit drug disguised as medicine. We can market them as pharmaceuticals."
One boasted proudly, "We don't need any distributor; we can handle distribution ourselves, manipulate both the
underworld and the law in Country T. Heard it's highly addictive but also genuinely beneficial for certain
illnesses. Freaking amazing, huh?"
Elsie's eyes widened in utter disbelief.
A drug that could heal? Was it medicine or poison? Suddenly, it clicked.
Why Warner, a scion of a medical dynasty, would forsake his family's honor, even his own conscience, just to
work with Avery?

If this drug was indeed a pharmaceutical facade, Avery could be planning to use
the Bright Group as a front to legitimize it, dominating EImsworth's medical market with this harmful substance.
Horrifyingly deceitful!
"Haha, such an amazing stuff, why not we give it a try tonight?"
As he spoke, he tossed a bag of medication onto the table. Elsie's heart pounded violently as she stared closely
at those blue pills.
"No, please don't!"
As the men grabbed the girls by their hair to make them tilt their heads, forcing them to ingest the pills, the
women screamed and struggled.
"Damn it, eat this!"
One slapped a girl harshly as his companion forcefully opened her mouth.
Just then, a slender, veiny hand grabbed the man's arm. Both looked up to see Elsie, smiling coldly with icy
resolve.
"Gentlemen, the girls are young and easy to be frightened. Why bother them? It's just a few pills. I'll take them."
