Chapter 39 Her wrath
Jason tightened the hug and mistakenly squeezed her injured arm in the process. Elle squeezed her face in pain and then a low
grunt escaped her lips.
Jason hearing that immediately pulled away from the hug. Elle immediately comported herself but then the pain was still visible
in her eyes.
"Are you okay?" He asked trying to examine body.
"I'm.. I'm perfectly fine. My stomach just hurt for a minute.." She faked a smile.
"Are you sure?" He asked and then touched her forehead to feel her temperature.
"I'm fine.." She smiled and he sighed.
"I was worried.." He thought and then heaved a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile Tyson was watching behind and he clenched his fists angrily. He doesn't know why but he hates seeing his brother
with Elle.
Soon the meeting was done and Elle headed to see Langford. Today, she was finally going to get all the truth about James.
OUTSKIRTS OF THE CITY.
A HIDDEN HOUSE.
Elle removed the cap of her hoodie and then knocked at the door. The door opened and a hefty guy stepped out. He was
smoking also.
He smiled upon seeing her.
"Boss ma'am.."
Elle scrunched her face in disgust.

"Will you put that away? How many times have I told you to quit smoking. It's dangerous for your health.." She said and rolled
her eyes.
"I'm sorry, boss ma'am..' He said and raised his hands in surrender before throwing the cigarette on the ground and then he
stepped on it.

"Where's boss Damien?" Blade asked.
"He's on his way.."
"How's he?!" She asked and he smiled.
"Don't worry, My boys are with him. He won't try nonsense.." He said and she chuckled.
"Hope he is in a comfortable room and you have him enough food and water?"
"He's refusing to accept it.." Blade said.
"I'll take care of it.." She winked and then walked in.
There were five different rooms. She opened the first and then walked in. There he was. Sitting on a chair, with his hands and
feet bound and his mouth gagged. He was sweating profusely and was also struggling with the chains used to bound him.
She smirked watching him struggle and then gave up.
"Hi...." She said with a smile and he turned to face the direction he heard the voice.
His eyes widened at who he saw.
"Miss Elle Browns..."
"Wait, what's happening? What's going on?!" He thought and started to struggle to speak.
"Tch, tch, Mayor. I'm greeting you but you couldn't even respond to my greetings. What sort of Mayor are you?" Elle said with a
pout and then she raised her brows just like she realised something.
"Oops! I'm sorry. Forgive my manners Mayor, I had forgotten I had your mouth gagged.." She said with a fake pitiful look and
then she removed the cloth from his mouth.

Langford breathed out loudly and he glared at her.
"Miss Browns, As far as I'm concerned. We only met once or twice. So I don't get why you are doing this.." He said and Elle
laughed out loudly.
"Oh really now, Mayor, I bet you would be very surprised soon.."
"And far as I'm concerned, I know you are partners with the Madisons. So tell me did James send you to me?!" He yelled and
Elle grabbed his cheeks and poked it hardly.
"Look at me carefully. Look at those eyes of mine. Aren't they familiar?" She said coldly and then left him alone.
"I don't know what you are talking about.." He said and she sighed.

"Well, Mr Mayor. We all know that you are more closer to the Madisons than I am. I've just been with them for almost a month
and you've been with them for long, so it's very obvious that you know most of their diry secrets. Am I right?"
Langford started sweating immediately.
"What do you mean?!" He asked shivering.
"Oh, don't play dumb, Mr Mayor. So let's start with the video that was played on the governor's birthday. Everything about the fire
is real. James and Lauren caused the fire that burnt the family to death and you were also in cahoots with them!" Elle snapped at
him with a now serious look.
"Look, I don't know. I don't understand what you are saying..."
Elle clenched her fists angrily and punched him on the right cheek.
"Stop denying it. I'm a living evidence to the fire incidence. You wanna know the truth. I was present at the fire incident because
I'm Asanel Anderson!" She yelled and Langford frooze right on the spot.
"What are you saying? Both Maltida and her daughter were killed. We investigated a everything properly!" Langford yelled.
"But did you ever find my body?!" She yelled back.
"Yes!" Langford said and Elle chuckled.

"True! Oh that. She was just part of the free trying to save me but instead a plank of fire fell on her and she died.." Elle said and
Langford jaws dropped.
"I'm using someone's else face just to make sure you all pay for what you did to my family. You destroyed my family!" She yelled
almost in tears.
"Now, if you want to live, you better start talking. I want to know everything about James's hidden and illegal businesses.."
Langford laughed.
"Even if you killed me! You went get anything from me! You won't be able to do anything to James!" He yelled again and Elle
punched his other cheek and then his stomach hardly. He coughed out a little blood immediately.
Elle angrily brought out her pistol from her pocket and pointed it at him.
"Don't you dare me, Mayor. You better stop speaking or I'll kill you right here on this spot!" She yelled and Langford laughed
weakly.
"Ne.. never.." He mumbled out.
Elle's eyes reddened and her lips trembled. She cocked the gun with her eyes fixated on Langford. Memories of how her mum
died in the fire came rushing in her head.
Tears rushed out of her eyes and without thinking twice, she pulled the trigger. The gunshot was heard, followed by the groaning
of Langford...
