He opened the file and began working, not glancing at her again.
Sarah walked over to his desk and said, "Can | take half a day off this afternoon? | have an appointment with the

"Finish your work, and then you can adjust your schedule accordingly," Xavier replied without looking up at her.
"Don't you want to join me? It's your house, after all," Sarah said while propping her arms against his desk.
She gazed at him with anticipation, hoping that he would go with her. The impact would be much greater if both
