Chapter 7 Goodnight.
The next morning-
Jaxon felt
itch on his cheeks. He sniffed and heard Hazel’s gentle voice. “Leila, don’t disturb Jaxon. Shall Mommy carry you

Jaxon opened his eyes and met Leila’s bright and sparkling eyes.
Leila sweetly called out his name.
Hazel noticed it and said gently, “Jaxon, you can Jaxon shook his head and stared at her blankly.

little longer.”
Hazel touched his forehead. He no longer had a fever. After having breakfast with the two children, she took
them to the yard to play.
There was a big swing in the yard. Jaxon and Leila were sitting on it, while Hazel was standing behind, gently
rocking it.
“Mom, swinghigh.”
Leila enjoyed Jaxon’s company.
Leila repeatedly called Jaxon. Jaxon’s worry about the hospital finally disappeared. He had a
heartfelt smile.
During the three days with Hazel, Jaxon enjoyed every meal. He slept with Hazel and Leila at night and woke up
in the morning to the sound of Leila.
When Gabriel cover, he saw Jaxon laughing with his teeth out, being chased by Leila in the yard. Jaxon
rarely laughed heartily like this.
The bright sunshine fell on the two children, while Hazel sat on the swing, gazing tenderly at them.
Jaxon held a toy in his hand, while Leila ran behind him. Occasionally, she fell on the lawn but quickly got up and
continued chasing Jaxon.
The toy flew over.
Jaxon led Leila to get the toy back and saw Gabriel standing outside the courtyard he

He stared blankly for a moment. “Dad.”
Hazel had already seen Gabriel at the entrance. She had received a message from the bodyguard as his car
entered the residential area.
It was just a matter of tbefore he found Hazel.
These days Hazel had figured it out. She didn’t want Gabriel, but she wanted the children. She would raise and
educate them herself.
So Hazel must meet Gabriel.
Gabriel wore a perfectly tailored high-end suit, cold but handsome. His dangerous and deep black eyes were
fixed on her face. He pressed his lips, and his powerful presence was intimidating.
group of bodyguards followed behind Gabriel, respectfully bowing their heads and standing
few steps away.
Gabriel was calmer than she had expected. Hazel asked the servant to take the two children back to the living
room. She had to face Gabriel alone.
In the courtyard..
Hazel was still sitting on the swing.
Gabriel walked briskly towards her, looking down at her eyes.
Gabriel recalled what Ezra said before getting out of the car.
“Mrs. Campbell went to the hospital to visit Dylan, the son recently found by the Bennett family.” Gabriel had
seen Dylan. On the eve before his marriage to Hazel, Dylan stood outside the Campbell's villa all night.
Dylan was Hazel'’s first love!
Gabriel questioned, “Hazel, who allowed you to take away my son?”
Hazel smirked. “Should | watch him suffer in the hospital?”
Gabriel was angry. “How can you take him away?”
Stung by the mockery in his eyes, Hazel gritted her teeth and said, “I am his biological mother!” Gabriel's
knuckles turned white from exertion. “Now you know it? Where were you when he was sick and looking for his
mother two years ago?”
Hazel’s eyes turned red. “Gabriel, you didn’t givethe chance to accompany them! “Where were you, as a
father, when Jaxon was sitting on the hospital terrace feeling sad? You were busy sending Gianna to the film
set!”
Gabriel saw the glimmer of tears in her eyes, and he was surprised. But soon he took on a mocking tone.
“Hazel, this is between you and me, why do you always have to involve innocent people?”
Innocent?
Was Gianna innocent?
Hazel was overwhelmed with sorrow.
Those five years of suppression, torment, and bitterness stood between her and Gabriel, testing every inch of
her apart.
“Of course, Gianna is innocent.”
Hazel didn’t want to argue with Gabriel anymore. Anyway, he would always favor Gianna. Hazel wiped away her
tears. “Gabriel, if you decide to marry Gianna, please giveback the custody of our two children.”
The surrounding air seemed to have frozen.
Gabriel's gaze was sharp. “You were dreaming!”
Hazel, even though you are Jaxon’s mother, without my permission, you cannot take Jaxon
way.

Inside the house
Jaxon kept watching. He saw Gabriel making Hazel cry. He had never seen Hazel so upset before. No. He had
seen it before....
When Hazel had not left Gabriel, Jaxon had seen Hazel secretly wiping away tears in the room. Just as Gabriel
was about to mock, Jaxon led Leila back to the courtyard. He raised his voice and cried, “Dad, | would go back
with you.”
Hazel turned around with tears in her eyes, meeting Jaxon’s understanding gaze. She felt a surge of
helplessness.
Jaxon handed Leila over to Hazel and forced a smile. “Thank you, Mom. | was happy these Few days.”

Hazel squatted down and held Jaxon in her arms. “Jaxon, if you don’t want to leave, Mommy can protect you.”

Hazel did not want to force Jaxon against his will.
She prepared a lot of snacks for Jaxon. Leila stuffed her favorite candies into Jaxon’s small backpack.
Gabriel sat upright on the living room sofa sternly.
Looking at them, he felt an indescribable emotion.
Jaxon secretly asked Hazel for her Line ID and wrote it down on a small piece of paper. Returning home, Gabriel
went back to his room to take a shower.
Jaxon sneaked into his room secretly.
He picked up one of the three identical phones on the bedside table and hurriedly ran this

He saw Leila huddled in front of the phone. Curiosity flashed in her eyes, and she kept calling him “brother”.
