Chapter 125 Zenovia Cynthia was wearing a long flowy gown with a thigh high slit and stilettos while Callahan was dressed in his usual style, a maroon shirt with sleeves rolled up and blue jeans.

She reached for his elbow while laughing and I tried to shove down the spark of jealousy coursing up my veins.

“I mean, | told you that would happen. But you are just too stubborn.” She said, and he replied, “Can’t help” Cynthia closed the distance between them and took his hands in hers while saying, “Well, at least, your knuckles don’t look bloodied anymore.” Callahan did not pull away from her immediately and answered, “I guess my Lycan is back to being a docile being.” They were chatting excitedly, and he seemed to be in a good mood. | did not want to ruin it, so | turned around and went inside the kitchen. My stomach rumbled at that point, remindingthat | had not eaten anything since morning.

Jealousy be damned, | needed food, and the delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen was not worth walking away from the dinner table without having my fill.

Drusilla saw the way | reacted, but did not say a word, and quietly grabbed a chair and sat on it.

Maria coutside upon hearing their voices while | stayed behind, wanting to calm my nerves. | could see the dining table clearly from this angle, though not Callahan and Cynthia.

“Oh, you have arrived, King. Should | serve dinner for you, too?” He raised an eyebrow. too?” Then his gaze drifted to Drusilla who was doing something on her phone.

“Ah, when did you come, Dru? | did not see you.” 1/7 08:10 Chapter 125 “I can tell that,” She said without taking her eyes off the mobile phone. Guess | was not the only one annoyed then.

Cynthia attempted to pacify Drusilla. “Hey Drusilla, what's up?” Drusilla looked up from her phone and gave her an all too sweet smile. “Everything except my mood.” Ooh. This was getting interesting.

“Serve dinner to all of us then,” Callahan answered Maria, who bowed politely and hurried inside the kitchen.

“Yeah, | am feeling ravenous,” Cynthia chimed happily as they both walked towards the table. Either they had not noticedor pretended fi Not that | cared. | was going to focus on food.

Soon, Maria brought out sdelicious dishes as the dining hall filled with the aroma of tasty, mouth-watering food.

| stayed leaning on the counter, my nails digging into it as Callahan pulled his chair out and sat on it.

Cynthia was about to be seated when Matteo walked into the living room.

“King, are you alright?” He asked worriedly, and approached Callahan.

“Ah, my brave soldier. Where have you been?” Matteo bowed and answered, “i was busy with the trials and then we had a small security breach back at the packhouse.” “Was anybody hurt?” He asked instantly.

“Not really. Snewly awakened pups wanted to sneak in and get a tour of the place. Since they were not willing to leave and kept on insisting, | gave them a tour and returned them to their homes safely.” Callahan smiled. “So you are a babysitter now” “I spoke to them to get sinformation on the rogue King and his whereabouts. | spent two days talking to them and understanding how they feel about the situation.” “And?” Callahan asked, reaching for a glass.

2/7 08:10 apter 125 “And a few believe their friends were stupid enough to fall for the rogue King’s words. So | was trying to coax them into asking more of their estranged friends to return home.” “Excellent,” Callahan said, pleased with his efforts.

“Though, | am sorry, | was not aware of what happened back home. Elijah informed me. | am sorry for not being there.” Callahan waved his hand off. “Its nothing.” Drusilla decided to intervene. “Yeah, he just demolished half the property and almost killedand El. Not much.” Matteo’s face paled. “Are you alright, King?” But it was Cynthia who jumped on Callahan, wanting to caress him like a child needing attention.

“Oh, my Goddess. You did not tella word about it.” She cooed and tried reaching for his hand again.

And then Drusilla muttered, “Of course, | and Elijah are fine. So is Zenovia, aren’t you?” She asked the last question while turning her gaze towards the kitchen. Both Cynthia and Callahan followed her gaze, and | gulped nervously when Callahan's gaze fell on me.

| saw the way his eyes went wide on seeingand the way he let his gaze roam lazily all over my body, starting from my toe and rising up slowly, reaching up to my face.

| tried not to shiver at the way his eyes flared with surprise and then...a hint of desire. His nostrils flared just a little and his eyes darkened while | felt that | was held captive in his gaze.

Suddenly, | felt as if the dress was too tight and too short and that | needed sair due to the intense heat in his eyes.

My pulse seemed to jump, but | forced myself to slowly walk towards the dining table and pushed the hair behind my ears to give my hands something to do.

Cynthia's smile was wiped off her face as she regardedcoldly. Maria's voice broke the silence that seemed to stretch forever.

“The food is going cold. Please start everyone” 3/7 08.116 Chapter 125 Callahan nodded at her and went to his chair while Cynthia, too, hastily began to walk by his side.

However, Matteo grabbed the chair she was planning to sit on and smiled politely at her.

She awkwardly pulled back, and | recalled what she had said toa few days ago.

A slow smile spread on my lips as | squared my shoulders and began walking towards the dining table.

Cynthia went to the other side of the table and pulled the chair on Matteo’s opposite side and beside Callahan, but I cleared my throat.

“That chair is occupied,” | said loudly as she placed her hand on it.

Cynthia gavea confused look as | went forward and smiled sweetly at her.

“Did you not hear from Amy? | won the trials.” | said, batting my eyelashes at her.

The way her expressions worsened toldshe knew what | was talking about.

“Who is Amy?” Drusilla asked as | turned to look at her.

“Oh, one of her friends. Her sister seemed to gang up onwith her friends for no reason, just like Amy did at the ball.” | then turned to look at Cynthia. “Surely you must remember that were with them.” Callahan raised an eyebrow, “Is this true, Cynthia?” And | loved the way Cynthia began fumbling to cup with an answer.

“I...uh...not really...Amy bumped into her. It was just a misunderstanding.” The way her smile disappeared, and she grew flustered madefeel nice. | was not a petty or a mean person, but she had drivenup the wall quite a few times already.

| added in a low whisper, “You better go sit somewhere else, or | have more than enough recollection of everything you did or said to me.” Her eyes grew wide as saucers. She had not expectedto retaliate. Hell, 4/7 08:11 Chapter 125 | had not expected to do that either.

Somehow my subconscious had been conditioned to endure it all- may it be Sid back hor her around Callahan.

Not anymore.

Cynthia looked at Callahan for support, but he had begun chatting to Matteo about something.

“You go girl” Thunder beamed atand | grinned at her, feeling elated.

Being confident was not so bad or hard, it seemed.

Cynthia's hand was still on the chair, so | reached for it and pushed it away. “The last twe were here, you remindedof how the seating arrangement is supposed to follow a hierarchy. You are not a member of the pack, while | am not just a lowly wolf-less girl anymore.” Her face paled even further as | pulled the chair towardsand flipped my hair, Drusilla trying to hide her smile while pretending to stuff her mouth with the food Maria had served us.

“B-but, you are still an omega. I...I am the future Luna of...” “Are you?” | asked loud and clear.

She gulped nervously. “I...mean...I..."” | took a step forward and leaned towards her. “You don’t want to kn what | mean to the Lycan King.” | whispered and smiled before taking a seat on the chair.

Drusilla finally decided to jump in, “She won the trials. It is her right to be seated beside the Lycan King for the dinner tonight. Every winner receives that honor.” | smiled radiantly at Drusilla, who was shaking her head and pretended to cough to hide her laughter.

My gaze flicked to Callahan, and | saw the hint of a smile appear on his lips. | smiled back at him and settled on the chair beside him.
