"Take Selene to the dungeon and don't let her out until she admits her mistakes. And don't bother giving her fresh food-just enough so she doesn't starve." The room fell silent as everyone around Orla gasped. Mr. Atticus was clearly furious this time.
Only those who committed grave errors, ones that jeopardized the medical organization, were sent to the dungeon-a place so dreadful that anyone who went in would lose their sanity within five days. Mr. Atticus didn't even want Selene to have fresh meals. Was he really going to make her eat spoiled food? Sure, everyone agreed Selene had messed up, but this punishment seemed way too harsh. Yet, no one dared to speak up for her.
As they moved to take Selene, she stepped back, her eyes cold.
"Don't touch me. I can walk myself." With that, Selene straightened her back and walked out with determination.

Playing tough, huh? He was curious to see how long she'd last. He would make her beg like a dog to be let out.
"Not a word about Selene's situation leaves this room," Mr. Atticus warned his disciples.
Even though Selene was just a minor member of the organization, Mr. Atticus couldn't afford to make too much noise. The higher-ups were already unhappy with him, and if they found out he was pulling strings behind their backs, they wouldn't let it slide.
But he didn't regret his actions. That girl needed a lesson.
The disciples quickly nodded, promising to keep their mouths shut.
"Mr. Atticus, have stea to cool down," Orla said warmly, handing him a cup. "You should go back to your room and rest. The office is a mess right now, but I'll have it cleaned up by tonight." The warm tea soothed his hands, and Mr. Atticus's expression softened as he looked at Orla.
He hadn't noticed before how competent she was.
With the upcoming medical conference on Lone Island, perhaps he could take her along.
