Chapter 1281

"Who do you think you're messing with? Flora's like a sister to me, and you all should call her that too, alright?

No funny nicknames."

The senior executives looked at each other in disbelief.

Calling a young girl "sister"? That was a stretch for them.

Only someone as laid-back as Corbyn could cup with something so outlandish.

Flora herself just shrugged, used to Corbyn's unconventional ways.

"Good day, everyone," she greeted, giving a slight nod.

"Seniors? Nah, just call'bro'," Corbyn said, full of confidence. "Calling us 'seniors' makes it sound like we're

ancient."

"Corbyn, today's a big day for the Medical Hall's assessments. Is it really appropriate to bring a young girl here?"

one executive finally spoke up. "The assessment's about to kick off. She needs to leave!"

"Flora's here as one of the assessors | invited. Why should she leave?" Corbyn said, pulling out a chair for Flora.

"We thought you were joking around, but you're actually serious!" said Scott, another executive known as Master

Scott, slamming his hand on the table. "What makes this young girl qualified to be an assessor? You think this is

skind of joke?" "I brought her here because she's got the skills. I'll show you," Corbyn replied with a frown.

These folks had been out of the loop, and he hadn't had a chance to showcase Flora's talents. Once they saw

what she could do, they'd change their tune.

"Sure, anyone you vouch for has to be talented, but she's so young! How can she sit with us?" Scott grumbled.

"Stop this nonsense and ask her to leave!"

"Leave? Flora stays put, she's not going anywhere. If anyone's leaving, it's you," Corbyn shot back, his temper

rising.

He wasn't about to let someone he invited just walk out.

Plus, Flora truly had the chops. By having her here, he was clearly grooming her as the future leader of the

Medical Hall.

The room was tense, the atmosphere awkward. Scott was fuming, almost at a loss for words, pointing at Corbyn

in frustration. Flora sat calmly, saying nothing.

Corbyn had invited her, so she was content to just sit there. The rest wasn't her problem.

Besides, she kind of enjoyed watching people underestimate her and then realize they couldn't do a thing about

"Chief, time's up. Shall we start the assessment?" Amos asked, poking his head in through the door.

"Let's get started," Corbyn replied

with a smirk, then turned to Scott "Sit down. Are you really going to storm out, old man? Everything's fine; why

are you picking on a young girl2"

Was he deliberately targeting Flora?

Her presence just didn't seem to fit in here!

Scott was fivid, but someone nearby quickly intervened. "Alright, alright, you know Corbyn's ways. If he insists

on having her here, just ignore it."

"The girl saved Corbyn's life; let's cut her sslack for now and talk about it after the assessment."

The executives didn't harbor any ill will towards Elora, they just thought she was overstepping and seeking the

spotlight. If she had any sense of propriety, she'd know that with her current status and skills, it wasn't the right

place for her to be, and she should've excused herself

But she didn't.

Determined to sit with them, it was almost laughable.

Scott, not wanting to hold up the proceedings, sat down, simmering with anger. The assessment was what

mattered, and Flora could be dealt with later. Finally, the assessment started, and the first candidate walked in.
