Chapter 1442 Attract Wealthy Men
"What?" Eunice looked at her suspiciously, casting a sidelong glance, "How come I never get such a luxurious car
when I call a ride-hailing service? That car must be worth over one million dollars, right?"
Beryl hesitated for a moment, avoiding eye contact, and gave a forced smile, "Maybe it was just a coincidence."
"Oh?" Eunice looked suspicious and glanced towards the gate, but the car that had been parked there was already
gone.
"Yeah, let's hurry, or we'll be late for class again." Beryl didn't want to dwell on the topic, so she pulled Eunice's
hand and walked quickly towards the entrance of the teaching building.
Observing her hurried steps, Eunice had already figured it out.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe didn't believe anyone would be willing to use a car worth over a million as an ordinary ride-hailing driver. Not to
mention the cost of fuel, just driving that car around would be too extravagant.
Beryl might not usually take taxis much, so that was why she came up with such a lame excuse.
However, Eunice narrowed her eyes and never expected her to be so capable. Beryl always seemed innocent and
straightforward, but who would have thought she could attract wealthy men?
In Eunice's eyes, Marcellus's company's cheapest car became a symbol of wealth.
Beryl and Eunice were not particularly close; they were just ordinary classmates. If Beryl's life was relatively simple,
then Eunice's was the opposite.
She always dressed very flamboyantly, wearing makeup even for classes or picking up deliveries downstairs.
Some might consider her style to be ostentatious, but Beryl believed that everyone had their own preferences and
choices, as long as they didn't bother others.
So, among her classmates, Beryl was considered relatively gentle towards her. Although they occasionally
exchanged words, their interaction didn't go any deeper.
Arriving at the classroom early after missing several days of classes, Beryl had fallen behind in her coursework. As
for Eunice, she was not someone who attended classes on time either, so she had to borrow someone else's notes
to catch up.
"Beryl, what have you been busy with lately? I noticed you haven't come to school for a few days," Eunice kept
chatting away without realizing she was interrupting.
Beryl felt awkward rejecting her and could only respond perfunctorily, "My father was sick, so I came here to the
hospital to visit. I've been with him for a few days."
"Oh," Eunice nodded and asked somewhat insincerely, "How's your father's condition now? Is he okay?"

"He has undergone surgery, so I came back to attend classes. I don't want to delay my exams." Beryl continued
writing quickly, hoping Eunice wouldn't continue probing, as it was disrupting her thoughts.
However, Eunice unexpectedly suggested, "How about after class today, I accompany you to the hospital to see
your father?"
Beryl's hand paused mid-writing, and she looked at her in surprise, "What?"
"I mean, I can go with you to the hospital. We are classmates, and you've always been kind to me. Although I
haven't said it, I know. Your family is from out of town, right? My family is local, so I can buy some things and go see
your father with you."
Beryl felt her enthusiasm but didn't feel touched; she only felt embarrassed.
"No, really, there's no need. I mean it. It would trouble you, and my aunt and uncle are here; they would feel bad if I
cause you trouble."
"What's the trouble? We're classmates..."
