Chapter 1149 Hello Kitty
Bert's words surprised Romy, but it was also this expression that made her realize something. The man in front of
her and Alivia did not have any illicit or distorted relationship; they truly loved each other.
After confirming this, Romy felt a bit less burdened. She didn't immediately agree to Bert's request. She just said
that she would think about it.
"Mr. Harper..." Before leaving, Romy called out to Bert earnestly, "Alivia is a very good girl. She is simple, sensible,
firm, and has self-respect. She has never let her family worry about her since she was a child. Her father didn't
fulfill his responsibilities to this family for some reason. I have been sick, and this family's affairs are supported by
her. Although we are poor, I can guarantee she is not a girl who covets other people's things. It is not easy for me
to recover, and she can finally go back to school to finish her studies, but I didn't expect..."

As Romy's mind flashed back to her daughter's joyful smile the day before starting school, her heart felt like it was
sizzling in a hot pan, causing her to ache and distress.
Every word she said was like a knife stabbing into Bert's heart. His cheeks twitched, and he gritted his teeth to
suppress the heat in his eyes. "I know. She's great, better than anyone else."
The treatment plan for Alivia had been under discussion and research. On the school side, Bert had already
arranged everything through connections. Romy was practically by her daughter's bedside all the time, and Kevin
was considerate of her health, arranging a small bed in the room so she could rest at night.
Henry rarely came to the hospital except for the first few days. Worried that his youthful impulsiveness might lead
to accidents, Bert had someone follow him. Surprisingly, the feedback from his subordinate was that the young
man was working part-time every day.
On the busiest day, he worked five part-time jobs, two in the morning, starting from 6 a.m. and continuing until 4
a.m. the next day. He even took up jobs like promoting at bars.
Bert couldn't bear it any longer. One night, he drove to the bar where Henry worked. As soon as he entered, he was
greeted by deafening music. Inside the dance floor, people were dancing energetically. There was a circular stage
in the middle, surrounded by small tables, and further back was a ring of sofa seating.
Bert was followed by an assistant and two bodyguards. He went straight into one of the private rooms. Before long,
the assistant brought in Henry, who was wearing a black shirt with a white bowtie.
When Henry stepped into the room, he still had a polite smile on his face. However, as soon as he recognized the
man sitting on the sofa, his smile vanished.
"Why are you here?" Henry was only 18 years old, and his emotions were written all over his face. Just one
sentence revealed his current panic and displeasure.

Bert pretended that he could not see through his mood. He sat on the sofa without changing his posture. His sharp
eyes penetrated the air and fell on the young face. "What's that thing around your collar? Do you think you're Hello
Kitty?"
The light and airy remark struck Henry's ears, becoming the greatest insult.
Henry's face turned red and blue, but in the face of such a mature, steady, and exceptionally powerful man, he
could only weakly retort, "This is my job."
"I know," Bert's tone remained indifferent. He glanced around the private room and eventually returned his gaze to
him, saying, "All the expenses in this private room will be counted towards your performance."
Henry was speechless.
It was clearly a good thing. After all, this private room was not cheap, and booking one could earn him a
considerable commission. Henry had always been trying to get people to book private rooms through various
means. But now that Bert did it this way, he felt extremely humiliated.
