Chapter 310 Like an Outsider
Evelyn walked into the villa with no expression on her face. Instead of going back to the bedroom, she
entered the guest room next door and locked the door. Before reaching the bedside, she slipped down
and sat on the ground.
She didn’t turn on the lights. Thick curtains blocked out all the light. Evelyn hugged her knees,
enclosing herself in a small space. The villa had ample heating, but she felt cold.
The feeling of betrayal by the person she trusted the most she had experienced once in her life, and it
nearly took half her life away. Back then, Huston saved her from the depths of despair. And now, this
man had also deceived her.
Younger sister?
Evelyn could see the love and affection in Mia’s eyes towards Huston because women understand
women best. That woman
had reservations about Huston.

She believed that he hadn’t done anything to betray her, but how could he deceive her like that?
Evelyn felt like an outsider. If he had directly told her about Mia’s existence from the beginning, perhaps
it wouldn’t have hurt her so deeply. The powerlessness and sadness deep within
her heart left her uncertain about how to face it.
Did he feel even a tiny bit of guilt or remorse when he saw her foolishly believing in him every day,
based on just one sentence he said and made her trust him for so long?
Evelyn didn’t dare to think about it. She was afraid that everything she saw was an illusion and that the
man she fell in love with would become a stranger.
He squandered all her trust, so any explanations now would appear futile. She no longer dared to
believe in him.
Evelyn didn’t know how long she had been crying or how long she had been sitting there. All she knew
was that Huston had left again. She heard the sound of the engine outside the villa, his car driving
away.
Evelyn hugged her arms tighter as if trying to build a fortress around herself. She closed her eyes,
tears streaming down her face, and her soft sobbing gradually turned into wailing. Where did he go?
Did he go to the company or another residence? Or did he go back to the villa where Mia lived?
No one could answer her, and no one knew that the feeling of panic and anxiety drowned her again.
Before leaving the Royal Villa, Huston had already instructed someone to keep an eye on the
surroundings of the villa. If Evelyn were to leave or anything happened, he would be notified
Evelyn said she wanted to be alone, but as long as he was at home, he couldn’t help talking to her, so
he could only control himself by leaving.
Now it was already the early hours of the morning, a time when the nightlife was in full swing. However,
Huston was at a loss as to where to go. He was usually busy with work and not enthusiastic about
entertainment. After much thought, the only person that came to his mind was Marcellus.
He dialed Marcellus’s number in a depressed mood. The call was quickly answered, accompanied by

His voice was a little erratic, and it was obvious that he had drunk a lot.
Huston didn’t want to talk nonsense with him, “Where are you
now?”
“Where else could I be? Of course, I’m at Red Cauldron. Do you need something from me?” Marcellus
responded. He seemed to find the surrounding noise too loud, so he turned off the music. A girl beside
him complained with a spoiled tone, “Marcellus, why did you turn off the music?”
Marcellus said perfunctorily, “I’ll turn it on later. Wait a
minute.”
Huston turned the car around and drove toward the Red
Cauldron. “I’ll come to you.”
“You want to come and see me?” Marcellus’s voice raised in surprise. “Now?”
“Yes.”
“No problem!” Marcellus couldn’t hide the excitement in his voice. “I’ll ask the manager to bring over the
best wine later. Just come. I’ll wait for you in my private room!”
Huston hung up the phone and stepped on the accelerator again and again. The frustration in his heart
needed to be diluted with alcohol.
