Chapter 166 It’s Not the Kind of Relationship You Think
Unable to hold back her anger, Evelyn found Sam, but the answer Evelyn got was still so pale and
powerless.
“President Lloyd is on a business trip. He didn’t talk to me about the details, so I’m not sure.”
For the rest of the day, she was like a living fly, suffering from criticism and artillery attacks. She ate
alone and read the files alone. When she went to the copy room, she met Charlie.
Both of them were stunned. Charlie broke the silence first. “What a coincidence.”
“Yes, I’m here to get the printed documents.” Evelyn walked to the printer and took the documents
away. When she passed by it, she nodded slightly as a greeting.
When she reached the door, he called out to her from behind, “Evelyn, do you really have that kind of
relationship with President Lloyd?”
Hearing this, Evelyn stopped subconsciously. After hearing his subtle words and tone, she bit her lip
slightly and then loosened her grip. How should she answer?
Was it not what he thought? Were they a couple?
But now that Huston wasn’t around and she couldn’t get in touch with him, was it appropriate for
her to say this unilaterally?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMoreover, could it be that his sudden disappearance had something to do with the report, that he
was hiding from the limelight, and that he didn’t want to admit her existence?
Evelyn had all kinds of thoughts, but she didn’t dare to do anything. She even didn’t give a definite
answer.
After nearly half a minute, she opened her mouth and closed it again. In the end, she only left a
casual sentence. “The relationship between us is not what you think.”
Charlie looked at her back with a complicated expression. If it wasn’t that kind of relationship, then
which one was it?
It couldn’t be a couple. A man like Huston wouldn’t fall in love with her. Even if he did, it would only
be for fun. It wasn’t that she looked down on her; it was just that the gap between them. was too
big, which was unbelievable.
After the news came out, not only was Evelyn looking for Huston, but Matt was also looking for
him. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get in touch with him. When he learned that he was on a business
trip with Kevin Lane, he called Kevin, but no one answered.
It happened so suddenly that no one was prepared, and the only man who could be prepared was
not by her side.

Aller careful consideration, Matt finally found Evelyn.
In the office, Evelyn was not in good spirits. She sat there in a daze. Matt poured her a cup of hot
tea and said, “Drink some and relax.”
Evelyn took it and shook her head. “I’m fine, Mr. Harrison.”
In the company, she still called him Mr. Harrison. Public and private affairs did not cause trouble for
others, and he was so sensible that he looked cute.
“So many things have happened, and we can’t get in touch with Huston. I know you have mixed
feelings, so I called you here today to talk to you and see what you think.”
“I don’t have any thoughts. Let’s wait until he decides. After all, he’s involved in this matter.” To put
it bluntly, Evelyn still didn’t have confidence in herself. She was afraid that if she made a decision
without permission, she would make him unhappy.
Moreover, this was not fair to Huston.
Matt looked at the dark circles around her eyes and said, “How about this? Put your work aside for
the time being. I’ll give you a suspension. You can take it as a vacation. You don’t have to feel any
pressure. You can go to work when Huston comes back.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEvelyn frowned. “I don’t want to be suspended, Mr. Harrison. I didn’t do anything wrong. I have no
reason to leave at this time.”

Her decisive refusal was not without resentment. Hearing it, Matt Harrison knew that she had lost
control of her emotions. Evelyn held her breath to go against these people who were waiting to
watch a good show.
It was inappropriate for Matt to force her. Seeing that it would be useless to try and persuade her,
he simply stopped talking. “I’ll contact Huston again. If you have any problems with your work, you
can contact me at any time.”
Evelyn blinked, thanked him, and walked to the door. She put her hand on the doorknob several
times but still couldn’t help asking, “Mr. Harrison, why did Huston suddenly lose contact?”
“I don’t know yet.”
“Could it have something to do with me?” Evelyn tightened her grip and nervously threw out the
question in her heart.
Matt looked at her stiff body and sighed silently. “I don’t think so. Don’t think too much about it.”
Without another word, Evelyn turned around and left.
