“Sure thing!” Estelle said, balancing the late-night snack box as she headed inside with the man walking beside
her. But then, Estelle’s ears picked up the murmur of men and women from the direction of the living room.

The two women rode the elevator to the thirty-second floor and entered a bar.
Zion, desolate and empty by day, came alive at night with a cacophony of voices and a shimmer of opulence.
The bar was a melting pot of nationalities, everyone laughing and carousing. Their serious, scientific facades
were nowhere to be seen at this moment.
The sweet blonde who’d brought Estelle here threaded through the crowd, receiving a playful pinch on the waist
from an acquaintance, to which she responded with a flirtatious wink. She led Estelle to a spot near a central stage
where a crowd was gathering in anticipation. The blonde maid squeezed Estelle’s hand, her eyes sparkling with
excitement, “There are three up for auction tonight, and they’re all top-notch!” Estelle realized they were
auctioning off people. She wasn’t interested in the auction. Instead, her gaze kept sweeping the surrounding crowd.
Suddenly, the crowd erupted in cheers as the lights converged on the stage and a cage descended from above,
revealing a girl huddled inside.

With each detail, the crowd cheered louder as if they were celebrating.
