Chapter 78

“Hmm!” Jonathan laughed, “You say it’s well–intentioned, so it is.”

Estelle felt a bit embarrassed and didn’t talk.

After a moment of silence, Estelle turned around and asked, “Are you hungry?”

Both of them haven’t had dinner yet.

Jonathan asked, “What’s there to eat?”

Estelle thought about it for a while, “I’ll make something real quick.

Jonathan slightly raised his thin lips, “Alright!”

“Wait for it!”

Estelle said and then turned to head into the kitchen.

Jonathan lit another cigarette, leaned against the wooden railing, slowly inhaling, and thought the girl

being coughing from the smoke was kinda funny. He then looked back and saw the kitchen light

shining, and the girl’s busy figure was faintly visible.

He stood in the darkness, looking at the kitchen filled with light and the aroma of cooking, feeling a

strange sensation coming over him.

Twenty minutes later, the two were sitting across from each other at a dining table, each with a bowl of

pasta in front of them.

It was just a simple pasta with white sauce.

“Let’s eat!” Estelle picked up her fork, took a bite of the pasta, and showed a satisfied expression.

Jonathan smelled something burnt just now, so he hesitated for a moment, but seeing her enjoying the

food made him dig in too.

After one bite, the man paused, his expression becoming a bit complicated. He took a tissue to spit out

something from his mouth, which turned out to be a very hard piece of cheese.

He wanted to say something, but Estelle seemed to be starving, and was really focused on eating, so

he didn’t say anything and continued eating the food in his bowl

Estelle quickly finished her pasta and sat there waiting for Jonathan

As Jonathan was putting down his fork, he heard Estelle ask, “How does it taste?”

“Not bad,” he said, while slowly wiping his mouth with a napkin and then giving a faint smile, “It takes

talent to make pasta this bad.”

Estelle looked surprised. “Is it really that bad?”

Jonathan retorted, “Is this what you usually eat? No wonder you’re so skinny”

Estelle protested, “Ive been skinny since I was young. It has nothing to do with whatleat”

Jonathan thought about it and said, “From now on, I’ll have the hourly worker come later to clean and

cook dinner for you too.”

Estelle immediately shook her head, “No need I’m not always eating at home. Besides, I still want to

practice my cooking skills. Practice makes perfect, right? It shouldn’t be too hard.”

Jonathan chuckled, “Alright then, good luck with that.”

“Thanks! When I get better, I’ll cook for you again,” Estelle laughed.

Jonathan was speechless.

He hoped there wouldn’t be another chance like this.

Seeing Jonathan wasn’t sleepy, Estelle suggested, “Wanna watch a movie together?”

Jonathan nodded, “Sure”

Estelle got up to clean the dishes, “Just give me a sec

Jonathan took the dishes from her hands, “I’ll clean up. You go find a movie.”

“Okay,” Estelle grinned and turned towards the living room. After a couple of steps, she looked back

and saw Jonathan carrying the dishes to the kitchen. His tall figure and cold, distinguished demeanor

didn’t look like someone who would be washing dishes.

The current situation also seemed somewhat strange.

Estelle smiled slightly and searched for a movie on her phone.

Jonathan washed the dishes and changed into more comfortable clothes in his room. When he

returned to the living room, the movie had just started

The living room was dark, only illuminated by the flickering light coming from the television

Sitting on the couch and looking at the opening scene of the movie, the man frowned slightly and asked

a little persistently. “What’s this movie?” Estelle watched the TV, her eyes sparkling with excitement, “A

horror movie”

Leaning against the couch, the man glanced at her and asked, “Are you sure showing a horror movie to

someone with insomnia is appropriate?
