Her delicate face was cupped in his large hands, revealing only her clear eyes. “What?”
Jonathan said, “I know the traditions. I'll just apany you to C City. You can go hafter you land, and I'll fly back to J City.”
Estelle didn't know whether to laugh or cry. “Why go through all that trouble?”

Before the plane took off, Estelle called Sylvia Jarvis.
The call connected, and a girl's soft, smiling voice cthrough. “Estelle!”
“Sylvia,” Estelle chuckled. “On the wedding day, I'll be waiting for you at the estate in C City.”
Sylvia laughed. “I received the invitation and have the gift ready. Congratulations in advance to you and Mr. Lamont. However, |
have a business trip to H City tomorrow, so I'm not sure if | can make it back in time. I'll have someone deliver the gift first.”
Estelle’s voice was gentle. “No, you can definitely make it. And you muste.”
Sylvia paused before smiling. “Alright, I'll be there.”
Estelle added, “We'll be waiting for you.”
She said “we,” which should have referred to the bride and groom, her and Jonathan. But Sylvia knew she meant her and Gabriel.
Sylvia smiled. “I wish you all the best, Estelle.”
“Thank you.”
After hanging up, Estelle looked at Jonathan. “I think Sylvia and Mr. Winters have already broken up.”
Jonathan took her hand and placed it on his lap, his voice low and steady. “The Winters family will be there on the wedding day.
Eugene Winters is the head of the family now, so he'll definitelye in person. We'll know then.”
“One more thing,” Estelle said, leaning against his chest with her chin on his shoulder, smiling. “I found you a groomsman.”
