Across the lawn, Carson and Andrew, along with others, laughed as they made their way to the banquet hall. Carson's gaze
unintentionally swept across the couple standing opposite.
He recognized Freddy in an instant.
But what was this scene unfolding before him?
He told Andrew and the others to go ahead while he leaned against a bench, casually observing the duo.
He thought Marina despised Freddy to the point of never wanting anything to do with him again. Yet, here was Freddy, wearing his
heart on his sleeve, eagerly professing something, and there she was, looking somewhat mesmerized.
So much for being clear-headed. He had pegged her for someone who would never give a cheating jerk a second chance. Turns out
she was just another fool in love!
Being a man himself, Carson could tell that Freddy's gaze held lust, not love.
And yet, she seemed moved!
Annoyed, Carson took out a cigarette, standing there with a look of someone watching a unfold, curious if Marina would fall
